chapter 6: year 5

As always, the start of the new year brought new gossip for the gossip circle. And the gossip circle had a lot to talk about this year. But like most gossip circles, they were half right, half wrong. Let's break down their gosip shall we? 

“Did you hear what Dumbledore is saying?”
 
“Did you hear the ministry’s response?”
 
“Is it safe for the kids to go back to hogwarts?”
 
“Of course it's safe Linda. You know who isn’t real. Have you seen him?”
 
At first the gossip was about Voldemort coming back. You see Dumbledore had announced he was back but the ministry didn’t believe he was back and had been publishing that and fighting with Dumbledore over that fact all summer, in the public eye. 
 
“Oh did you hear, Audrey? The malfoy’s foster son, Marcus Slythern, disappeared”
 
“Oh I hear he ran away Linda”
 
“I heard he was disowned for being a mudblood”
 
“I heard he fell in love with a muggle and ran away to get marr-”
 
“Don’t be stupid heather”

Another thing they were gossiping about was Marcus Slytherin. You see, at the end of august Marcus Slytherin disappeared. No one knew where he was or why he disappeared but so many pureblood people were calling him a blood traitor. 
 
“Dumbledore is getting too old. He needs to retire. “
 
“Did you hear? He failed to hire a defence against the dark arts teacher?”
 
“He did? Who’s going to teach my dear son then?”
 
“Someone from the ministry apparently”
 
“Oh good. They’ll see that Hogwarts needs new staff and the students need mental help. Saying he is back when he isn’t”

The last thing they were gossiping about was the new Defence against the dark Arts professors that the government had hired. Albus Dumbledore had failed to hire a new teacher and the ministry had appointed one themselves. 
 
Bree didn't care about the whispers. They just said goodbye to Remus and got on the train. Bree ended up sitting in a compartment with Fred and George because the other compartments were full. Though half way through the train ride, Sophia came in and took Fred back with her. So the gays were left alone. 
 
During the welcome feast, Dolores Umbridge was introduced as the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Bree hated the woman. Just the sound of her voice hurted their ears. Though Bree laughed as Sophia yelled “vile toad” at the woman. However, there were a lot of mixed emotions throughout the whole feast. Most of the people in the hall were either frightened of or angered by Umbridge. Although, some looked really confused. Alternatively, most of the Slytherins were smirking or were really happy with Umbridge becoming the defence against the dark arts professor. 
 
That night, while Sophia, Hermione and Jazz were sleeping, Bree and Eileen decided to cut their hair really short. Eileen also dyed her hair bright red. Everyone was both shocked and happy over the change. Well everyone but the parents and umbridge.  Severus and Eileen got into another argument. Mcgonagal put them in detention with her so they wouldn't end up in detention with Severus or umbridge. Bree received letters from their parents 

“Bree, 
Minnie has told me about your hair and sent me a picture. As much as the hairstyle suits you. We will be having a word at Christmas 
Moomy” 

“Hey Bree, 
Renus showed me your hair. I love it. Don't mind what your mommy says. I love it. It looks good pup. Suits you. can't wait to see you and Sophia at Christmas
Papafoot” 

 
Despite the different reactions, the new hair style caused something to happen. Bree was flirting with Fauna again but this time they were alone. Bree had cornered Fauna against a wall with a hand by her head. “Hey beautiful” Bree said to the blushing 4th year who replied with “hey you with the pretty face”. They suddenly kissed each other. A deep passionate loving kiss. But the kiss was cut short as Bree pulled away from Fauna.
