Elijah's Return

Lillie's POV

I wake up to Elena shaking me. She signals me to be quiet. She has me get changed and we go to her car. Where I see someone in it. Elena signals me to get in and I do so as she gets in the drivers side. As she starts the car I finally realize who the man is. "Elijah!" I cheer and hug him from behind. He chuckles patting my arm.

"Sit back Nora, we'll hug properly once we get to our destination and I have changed clothes" he tells me. I sit down

"Where have you been? Did you know Klaus is her?" I ask him.

"Klaus is here?" he asks.

"He's taken over Alaric's body" Elena tells him.

"Of course he has. One of his favorite tricks" Elijah states.

"Well, what are his other tricks? What is he going to do next? You're the only one who knows him, aside from Lillie" Elena states.

"Yes, I do" Elijah says. We soon arrive at the Lockwoods. Elijah got a change of clothes as his old ones were burnt for some reason. Carol then left us to talk in piece. As she had a meeting to attend. After our hug, we sit in the living room. Me in Elijah's lap.

"How come you didn't tell me about my sister being a reincarnation of your sister?" Elena asks.

"Because it was her secret to tell" he states.  "So I assume that the Martin witches are no longer with us" he says changing the subject.

"No, I'm sorry" Elena tells him.

"And Katerina? She would have been released from my compulsion when I died" Elijah states.

"Klaus took her. We think that she may be dead" Elena tells him.

"I doubt that. Not Klaus' style. Death would be too easy for her after what she did" he tells her.

"I don't understand. You say that you want Klaus dead, but you still made Katherine pay for betraying him" Elena says confused.

"I have my own reasons for wanting Katerina to pay. There was a time. I'd have done anything for Klaus" Elijah states. He tells Elena how Klaus is his brother. "Yes. Klaus is my brother" he confirms.

"I heard that. I'm still processing" Elena tells him.

"Yes, I'm a little behind on the times, but I believe the term you're searching for is "O.M.G." he says. And I giggle. As he drinks his tea.

"So that makes him your past life's brother, too?" Elena asks.

"Yes" I say.

"This is so missed up" she states. "So, there's a whole family of originals?" she asks.

"My father was a wealthy land owner in a village in Eastern Europe. Our mother bore eight children" Elijah states.

"So your parents were human?" she asks.

"Our whole family was. Our origin as vampires is a very long story, Elena. Just know. We're the oldest vampires in the world. We are the Original family, and from us all vampires were created" Elijah tells her.

"Right, but Klaus is your brother. And you want him dead?" Elena asks. Elijah has me stand and does the same.

"I need some air. I'm still feeling a tad...dead. Come" he tells us. We follow him outside. "Go play" he tells me. I nod and run over to a swing tied to a try. I sit on it and start to swing as they continue to talk. I continue to play until I see Elijah hand Elena her phone. I hop off the swing and head over as Elena looks alarmed by whatever she hears on the phone.

"Klaus went after Jenna. I have to go to her" Elena states after ending the call.

"Aunt Jenna's hurt?" I ask concerned.

"I'm afraid that wasn't part of today's arrangement" Elijah tells her.

"She's my family, Elijah. I have to. I'll be back. You have my word" Elena tells him.

"That doesn't mean anything to me until you live up to it" he tells her.

"Thank you" she says. "Coming Lillie?" she asks.

"Actually, she and I have some private things to discuss" he tells her.

"I want to see Aunt Jenna, but I also want to talk to Elijah" I say conflicted.

"You know she'd be safer here with Klaus on the loose" Elijah tells her.

"Besides, me staying gives you a reason to come back" I tell Elena.

"Ok" she says and hugs me. Before leaving.

"What has Klaus told you?" Elijah asks me.

"That our family is safe, he has them" I tell him.

"You sure?" he asks.

"Has he ever lied to Nora?" I ask him. He goes into deep thought. "I hate this Elijah, all this fighting. I just want all my families to get along. I know that's naive, but I am a child and I love you all. I don't want to see any of you hurt or killed" I tell him.

"I understand, but you must know we may not all survive" he says gently. Tears appear in my eyes and he hugs me close. "Shush, know that no matter what happens. We all love you" he tells me. "How about I make you some lunch while we wait for Elena?" he suggests. I nod my head and he leads me inside.

(Time skip)

Elijah and I are playing chess when Elena returns. "Welcome back" he says as he makes his move. "Check" he says.

"Tell me. What is Klaus' curse?" Elena asks. I move a piece and Elijah wins the game. I pout as he looks at Elena. Who has sat down next to me.

"My family was quite close, but Klaus and my father did not get on too well. When we became vampires, we discovered the truth. Klaus was not my father's son. My mother had been unfaithful many years before. This was her darkest secret. Klaus is from a different bloodline. Of course, when my father discovered this, he hunted down and he killed my mother's lover and his entire family. Not realizing, of course, that he was igniting a war between species that rages until this day" Elijah explains.

"A war between the species?" Elena asks.

"The vampires...and the werewolves" he clarifies.

"So Klaus' real father was from a werewolf bloodline? What does that make Klaus? A werewolf? Or a vampire?" Elena asks.

"He's both. A hybrid would be deadlier than any werewolf or vampire. Nature would not stand for such an imbalance of power. Therefore the witches, the servants of nature, saw to it that my brother's werewolf side would become dormant" he explains.

"That's the curse that Klaus wants to break?" Elena asks.

"He wants to trigger that part of him that's a werewolf. If allowed, Klaus would sire his own bloodline. He'd build his own race. Endangering not just vampires, but everyone" he states.

"But you helped him?" she says confused.

"Go wait in the car" Elijah tells me. I pout, but do so. Soon they join me and we go back to the boarding house. Where Elena invites him in and we see the Salvatores fighting. Elena gets them to stop while Elijah tells me to go see my aunt. I go upstairs.

"Aunt Jenna!" I call and her head appears from inside a room.

"Lillie!" she says relieved. I run to her and hug her. Glad she's ok. I hope we all survive this. I don't know what I'll do if I lost anyone from any of my families.
