To Trust a Fae

Chapter 5

After that day things changed. Anna felt like she could trust Aurora. Of course, she was still scared of him but his actions showed that he only wanted to take care of her. He had told her many times about his intentions for her. He doesn't want to harm her. He only wants to help. She was very grateful for him.

After a few days living in his home. Anna was sitting on the homemade chair when she noticed the window. She was so surprised when she saw snow.

Anna was very shocked. She has never experienced snow before. Yes, she knows it excited but she has never seen it.

Aurora was reading his books he sat on the bed and noticed she watching the snowfall.

"What's wrong Anna?" He asked as Anna looked outside and noticed it was snowing
*winter has started* he thought.

"I have never seen snow before. It looks so white...they weren't lying it was white" she said as smiled at the window.

"Wait you never experienced snow? That doesn't make sense Anna...didn't you live here your whole life?" He asked confused as he sat and looked at the dresser that she was on.

Anna quickly looked away from the window and looked up at him. She didn't want to tell him her secrets but yes he was right. It doesn't make sense if I live here how haven't I experienced snow?

"It's complicated," she said flatly as to try to move on from the question but Anna could see curiously sparking in Aurora's grey eyes.

He could tell that she didn't want to answer. So he tried changing the question. Maybe she moved into the area recently? But yet it wouldn't make sense since a human has not been seen in decades. He will start slow "Well I have plenty of time. Did you live here your whole life?" He asked her innocently

Anna glared at Aurora. She wanted to say none of your business but she had to remember that he was taking care of her for now and she had to admit it. Anna needed him to survive. So she decided to answer his question but that doesn't mean she has to be honest about it.

"Yes I lived here my whole life...but we weren't allowed out. For obvious reasons" she said looking at him with a glare.

The look she gave me could kill. She was upset but also trying to communicate. Her answer was honest but he couldn't help but feel bad and glanced at his hand. His sharp-clawed hands...he was a monster, especially his people. "I'm sorry you have to deal with that, my dear. That must have been so confusing as a child" he said quietly as he remembered his grandfather.

Anna was surprised that he apologized. She thought Faes would be cruel and nasty but he had compassion and sadness over her situation. She admired that. She had a few questions to ask him as well. "Since we are asking questions here. I was wondering how you learned the language when for a few days you didn't understand me? How did you learn so fast and why?" She asked trying to change the subject.

Aurora was surprised to hear her ask the question. He thought she would want her privacy but she seemed also curious about him. He gave her a boyish smile as he rubbed the back of his head. "Well, I saw how scared you were of me and I wanted you to feel comfortable and also I wanted to communicate with you. So I learned by reading a book about your language it was passed down by my grandfather" he said shyly as he looked away from her embarrassed that she might think of it as corny.

Anna smiled at him as she heard what he said. She had to admit it was kind of him to learn span language just to make her feel comfortable. His plan did work. "That's sweet of you. It did help a lot thank you but out of curiosity can I see the book" Anna said looking up at him as she saw his cheeks go pink and quickly went over to his closet to retrieve it. She was shocked to see how fast he was. It did frighten her but she wanted to trust him but it was just difficult. Anna glanced at him and saw his long black tail twitching frantically and she couldn't help but giggle slightly. It was honestly kinda cute to see him get flustered.
