Jayden FloresJazzy and I sat at the park, both of us holding an ice cream cone in our hands. I had basic vanilla while she had cookies and cream. I never understood how she loved such sweet things. Sweets never stood well with my body for some reason.
We were waiting for Tyler to show up and saw the ice cream truck, so we decided it'd be smart to help ourselves.
"Honesty, we should completely ditch Tyler," Jazzy suggested, shrugging her shoulders as she licked her ice cream.
"That's exactly why he hates you," I scoffed.
We finished our ice creams, sitting at the wooden table. The surface of it was rough, making me think I got a splinter every time my arms and hands touched it.
Luckily, Tyler arrived before Jazz could've gone off on me for what I said.
"Sorry it took me so long, I got busy," Tyler apologized, taking a seat on the bench next to me. We all sat in silence, not having anything to say.
It was quickly ruined by Jazlyn.
"So, what have you guys been doing for the past two weeks, considering we haven't met up since.." she paused, thinking of the date most likely.
"June 3rd?" Tyler added for her, "Exactly two weeks ago from today."
Jazzy glared at him, showing her irritation with his already.
"I really could've gone a couple more weeks without seeing you," she sneered, getting ready to get up and storm off if Tyler said the wrong thing.
All he did was shrug. Guess he agreed but didn't wanna ruin the mood even more than it had already been.
We went back to the awkward silence, the tension slowly ceasing. Their bickering was pretty funny to hear, especially since I knew both of them pretty well. It was just the fact they never stopped arguing that got me. If only they didn't at all, I would be down with that.
"Back to my question, what have you guys been up to?" Jazz repeated, mainly directing it to me since she was looking at me.
"I've been pretty good. Ever since summer break started, I've been able to pick up longer shifts at my job," I cheered with an excited tone.
"That's good, more money to give us," Jazzy bantered, winking at me.
That caused her to receive a glare from Tyler. It sure seemed like they were on a streak today. I guess they missed each other over the two weeks they hadn't seen each other.
"What? It's true, though, especially since he's super good at giving gifts and is generous," Jazzy defended herself, scoffing when Tyler still didn't look amused.
"Still isn't good to go around asking for money if you're good at it," Tyler retorted, glaring at Jazzy still.
I let out a loud groan as I rested my head on the wooden table, hoping they'd get the hint that their arguing was getting on my nerves. I'm sure if I wasn't around, they would never stop.
It's as if they were meant to be enemies instead of friends, their personalities being the exact opposite. Jazzy was an outgoing person who didn't know how to shut up while Tyler preferred to keep quiet and knew when not to talk. They needed to sort this out otherwise I wouldn't bother hanging out with them.
