"shoko, why are we here?"

"i know you're curious too so i got some insider sources."

"no, why are we following gojo and utahime?"

shoko had dragged geto out of his apartment the day following the group chat's texts. she managed to find gojo and utahime on a walk together, presumably going somewhere to talk. currently, shoko and geto are hiding behind a building, watching the ex-couple walk in silence.

"don't you want to know?" shoko replied.

"well yeah but this is an invasion of privacy! what if yuki finds out? no... what if those two find us?" geto whisper shouted.

"i didn't think that far but just pretend we're coincidentally there." shoko suggested.

"you're going to get us in trouble!" geto exclaimed.

"shhh! do you want to be caught?" shoko argued.

that prompted geto to stop talking. after ten minutes of walking and stalking, gojo and utahime stopped in front of an expensive looking cafe. they watched as the ex-couple entered the building.

"holy shit geto, did you bring enough money?" shoko gaped.

"what? i'm not paying for anything!" geto frowned.

"but i didn't get the chance to each breakfast today because i had to pull you out!" she whined.

"sounds like a you problem."

the two of them stopped bickering and entered the cafe, covering their faces with their hands. while this would normally look suspicious, the cafe was quite crowded that no one paid much attention to them. they sat themselves in a booth right behind gojo and utahime. shoko sat across from geto, facing the back of utahime's head and hid her eyes with sunglasses. she was positive that they wouldn't recognize them.

"so... what did you want to talk about?" utahime began.

"i just wanted to say sorry about the prank. i'll pay for everything." gojo explained.

on the other side, shoko couldn't hear what the two of them were talking about. she leaned forward to try and hear what they were talking about to no avail.

"psst... what did he say?" shoko whispered.

"nothing important, he's just apologizing." geto whispered back.

"are you guys ready to ord- what are you guys doing here?"

the server seemed to recognize shoko and geto despite their mediocre disguises. both of them looked up to see megumi standing by their table.

"ahem- sir, i think you got the wrong person?" shoko said, lowering her voice.

"you work here?" geto raised his eyebrows.

"yeah... i'm earning some money to buy something for yuji for christmas. he doesn't have any relatives that are alive so..." megumi explained, ignoring shoko's silly act.

"you're a good kid." shoko nodded her head in approval.

"ok, can i get an iced americano?" geto ordered.

"you're so insensitive! ...can i get black coffee with some cake." she asked.

"i thought we were acting!" geto whisper shouted.

"uh ok i guess..." megumi wrote down their order and walked back to the cash register.

geto was getting antsy as he felt they were walking on thin ice. miraculously, gojo and utahime have yet to look their way as they continue their conversation.

"you said you wanted to talk about us?" utahime asked.

"oh yeah... we didn't really end what we had on the best terms so i wanted to get some clarity." gojo explained while looking down at the table.

"hey." utahime reached out and held gojo's hands in hers.

"it's nothing that you did, it's my fault." utahime tried to explain.

"no it was mine... sorry i wasn't there for you when you needed me the most." gojo looked up and made eye contact with her.

"bro i can't hear shit but they're holding hands." shoko said to geto.

"nah no worries they're just apologizing." geto replied reassuringly.

"to be honest, i don't think i ever got over our relationship." utahime started.

gojo tilted his head. she seemed to be insinuating something.

"do you think we can start over?"
