"gojo? what are you doing up here?"
gojo turned his head around and faced where the voice came from. he had to stay behind and get lectured by masamichi again for something he had caused. he felt overwhelmed by the current situation despite his somewhat calm front and walked up to the rooftop of the multistory building to cool his mind up.
"utahime? why did you come up here?" gojo asked back.
utahime approached towards him and sat herself next to gojo.
"i did ask first but i just wanted some air i suppose." she explained herself.
"i see." he stated plainly.
"well what's up?" she asked again.
"ugh i don't know, i can't explain it... thanks for saving my ass tho." he let out a loud sigh.
"if you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to. i just did the right thing." she assured.
the former lovers sat in silence for a bit until one decided to break the silence.
"it's just- what's wrong with me? i don't understand how i manage to fuck everything up. i don't think it's right for me to receive so much admiration and love from people when i haven't done anything right. i mean- this is the fifth time this month i've been yelled at for something i did." gojo let out his thoughts as he furrowed his eyebrows.
"there's a lot of great qualities you have. everyone is bound to make a mistake once in a while, you just happen to be in the public eye." utahime said.
"do you really... think so?" gojo glanced at her.
"yeah."
"i think you're lying." he sighed again.
"you know... i didn't break up with you because you were a bad boyfriend." she clarified.
"...then why did you?" gojo asked.
"i was frustrated that we couldn't go out in public or do anything we wanted to without taking overbearing precautions. at the time i thought i didn't mind, but i realized that it was difficult for me." she explained.
"so it was because of me." he said in a deflated tone.
"gojo, let me finish. none of that is your fault, that's your job. it has nothing to do with you personally. you tried your best to accommodate me throughout our relationship. i just don't think i was ready for the world you live in." she continued.
"should i quit then?" he asked.
"don't be stupid." utahime rolled her eyes.
"whatever, i just want this to be over." gojo loosened up his arms and laid down.
"you're back to your immature self."
"isn't it more natural for me to be immature?" he shrugged.
"yeah but i hope you aren't just masking your feelings with your immaturity." utahime frowned.
"i won't." he said.
"welp, i have to go now. have a good rest of your night. i'm sure incident will pass by quickly." she said while getting up.
"before you leave... do you think i'll find someone who is ready for my world?" gojo asked hesitantly.
utahime laughed.
"there probably is someone who already is."
