I walked to the mess hall in shock, Midoriya in an equal state beside me. Neither of us could believe our luck.

"Hey, guyyyys? Earth to Deku and Y/n!" Ochaco waved her hand in front of our faces. "What's with the stone expressions? We should be celebrating! Let's go!"

She grabbed Midoriya's hand, tugging the flustered mess along with her as she ran off, leaving me behind. I laughed and shook my head. My fave OTP was at it again.

I yawned, stretching my arms out, and promptly bonked someone in the head.

"GAH! Sorry! My fault!"

"I find you say that rather a lot." A low voice mumbled. I blushed as I noticed Todoroki rubbing the back of his head where I whacked him.

"Sorry." I giggled. "Um... hey, wanna come eat lunch with us? Ochaco and Midoriya and Iida and Tsu and me, that is. That's what I mean by 'us'. I just know you eat alone a lot. So, what do you say?" I asked, giving him an awkward grin.

Todoroki looked at me for a moment, then looked away. "I'm not here to make friends."

"Irrelevant!"

He blinked.

But, before either of us could say another word, there was a loud blaring over the loudspeakers.

"Security breach, security breach, everyone, please evacuate."

Chaos echoed out in the mess hall as I desperately looked around at the loudspeakers, as if they would give me some kind of clue of what was happening.

"Security breach?" Todoroki wondered.

"Who could possibly-"

Before I could finish my sentence, a rush of students erupted from the Cafeteria doorway, shoving and screaming. I stumbled as Todoroki rammed into me, falling against my shoulder and attaching there as the stream of people refused to cease.

I winced. His grip was strong, and his hands... huh. One was ice cold, the other was warm, like heat from a fire.

No, no, focus!

Wrapping an arm around Todoroki, so as not to get lost in the sea of people, I pulled open my drop down menu and searched desperately for something to get us out of this mess.

Nothing.

Another person slammed against my shoulder, sending me stumbling, and I felt my knees buckle. Todoroki's grip doubled, his arms looping around my neck.

"Keep standing." I looked up to see a flash of genuine concern over his face. I nodded.

"I know. Stay close or we'll be trampled. Are you-"

"The evacuation doors aren't opening!!" Someone shrieked.

"We need to get out of here!" Another yelled.

"What's happening with the doors?!"

"Have villains gotten inside the school!?"

The crowd, though still rippling with pushes and shoves, slowly settled down, and I pulled yet another pair of cheap high heels out of Hammerspace. The six inches extra height didn't do me much good, but I was able to pick out a few other class 1-A students in the crowd.

I stepped down off of the heels. "Alright, I see a few others. If we can just-"

It was at that moment that I realized how incredibly close we've been this whole time. And, as much as I wanted to pull away, there were people pushing in on all sides, completely limiting any movement space.
