When Li Ming was back home, he was already punching himself mentally. He could only find Heart after three days. How was he going to find him again now? Why did he run anyway? What was wrong with him? He had no strength to wait in front of Heart's school anymore, and he obviously had no excuse to tell Heart -or de security- either. He had to stop acting so impulsively and start thinking for at least two seconds before doing something.
Golf was at home when Li Ming entered the living room. The TV was on but he was playing games on his phone. "Dude, you should rest a little," he said as soon as he saw Li Ming's face. "You don't look good."
Li Ming sat down next to him on the sofa. He turned sideways and looked outside from the tall windows. "I don't know what to do anymore," he said. That was all he could think of at that moment.
He felt like he hadn't even sat down to relax since he came here. He was constantly on his feet, eating one meal a day and drinking too little water. He didn't feel any of it physically because of the turmoil he was in, but his body knew what was going on, and it was starting to show on his face. Sleeping eight hours and taking a cold shower once a day wasn't enough to operate normally for a human body.
His mind was all over the place, trying to process everything while working overtime to adjust to the situation. He didn't give himself any time or space to think thoroughly and really take everything in. He felt like he would lose his mind if he did that anyway. He didn't feel strong enough to face the truth, he wasn't ready to accept he was two years in the past. Was this a TV show? A fantasy book? A fanfiction? It was all too much. He felt like he was watching everything from above, and moving his body around like a video game character. He was just trying to pass the levels and finally face the big boss -Heart-, so he could hopefully see the closing credits and go home.
But it just didn't work like that. He was going to be here for almost three months, he had to adjust somehow, even if it was a little. Even a little was enough.
"What is bothering you so much?" Golf asked as he put his phone down. "You don't need to pay me back for anything, you know. Stop going out and rest for a while."
Li Ming looked up at his friend. "But you've been paying for everything."
"I know you didn't even use one-tenth of the money I gave you, Li. Why are you starving yourself? I can afford to feed you."
Li Ming pouted his lips as an ache took a seat in his heart. He wasn't used to receiving things without any expectation from others anymore. Things didn't work like that for him in America. "You are a good guy," he said. He wished he could tell him the truth.
Golf shook his hand in front of his face. "Don't be corny. Now, tell me what your problem is. Maybe I can help you."
Li Ming sighed and brought both of his legs on the sofa, crossing them. "You can't. I'm looking for someone. I mean, I found them, but I need to keep an eye on them but I don't know how."
"Is that person the reason you came to Thailand?"
"Kind of, I think." Not his reason to come to the country, but to this year. So it was kind of right.
Golf nodded. "Where are they? Where are you going every day anyway?"
"Chula. I need to be around there as much as possible."
Golf frowned. "I didn't know you came back for love."
Li Ming sat straight. "What love? I didn't come back for love! I just need to keep an eye on them, that's it."
"Okay," Golf said, very slowly, but his face didn't look like he was convinced.
"What? It's true!"
"I didn't say anything." He brought his phone back in front of his face. "You know, we can talk to Pond. His sister has a cafe and it's doing pretty well. She might give you a part-time job there."
