Chapter 2

———-Richard's POV————

I fixed the last few strands of my hair, then stepped back to check myself out in the mirror. A smirk plastered on my face, I felt blessed with my good looks.

My chiseled face, tanned skin, messy brown hair and crystal blue eyes boosted my confidence level when I'm around with girls. I looked simple yet stylish in a unique way.

I woke up extra early so that I could pick Dayah up from her house and go to school together. I wanted to impress her. I begged my dad for his car and fortunately, he frankly said I could.

I was surprised because the last time I used his car was when I was driving home after a party. I remembered being drunk and had crashed into another car.

My dad was so furious when he saw the car in a total wreck. Since then, I have been saving up to buy myself a car. It was always easier said than done.

I couldn't wait to see Dayah later. I grabbed my jacket and backpack and skipped to the living room. Wait, what?! I skipped? That's a very unmanly behavior....

I shot a quick glance around, even though I knew there was no one in the house, in case someone saw. I shook my head in exasperation at my own stupidity and then sauntered out of my house to my dad's car.

It was a good 20 minutes drive to Dayah's house. I knocked on the door and waited for about a few seconds until she opened the door.

There she was, standing in front of me with her hair that looked like the sun in a perfect shade of blond.

She wore a mini lavender dress which was just around the length of her mid thigh. Her dress complemented her hair which made her looked so... perfect.

"Good morning gorgeous," I greeted as I led her to my car. I helped her with the car door, feeling so much like a gentleman. She smiled at me amusingly and we soon headed for school.

The car was unusually slow, but it became even slower when we were near the mall which was close to school. That is when I realized the fuel tank was almost close to empty.

"Fuck! " I yelled, feeling my face reddened with anger. Partly due to embarrassment as well. How could this happen?! At this moment?!

I wanted to drive to the nearest gasoline station but it was already too late when the car stopped at a complete halt. Ouh.. So that's why my dad let me borrow his car that easily...

Unbelievable...

"What happened?!" Dayah exclaimed, tilting her head towards the fuel tank limit. "Oh no, I guess we're walking then..." Dayah said and heaved a sigh.

I probably was too busy talking to Dayah the whole time and didn't even realize the fuel tank was low.

"I'm sorry Dayah.." I told her. I could see she was trying to show a smile.

"It's alright. How about the car?" She gave me a warm smile, comforting me.

"Don't worry about it. Let's just start walking now." I told her and we started down the pathway to school.

The car would probably get towed away. But it was partially my dad's fault too. I don't want to be late for school since I have been late quite a lot of times now. I didn't want to get a detention today.. I have never liked it. I mean, who likes detention?

Moreover, the party would be held at my house tonight, and that means I have to go home early to prepare it.

Despite Dayah and I have to walk to school, I enjoyed it a lot as I could spend more time with her. I'm glad Dayah was understanding, I hope...

———-Jessica's POV———-

"Buzz..." My phone vibrated, indicating a text from someone. I looked down and realized it was from Rosie.

"Hey girl! I just woke up like 5 minutes ago!! I'll be late so you can go to school first, okay? Sorry."

I sighed, guess I would have to go to school myself. I stood up from the chair in our usual meeting place at a nearby mall in school. I walked towards the school which was a few blocks away from the mall.

I was already sweating. Fortunately for me, I did not wear any makeup for today. The makeup would all be smudged with my sweat and I would probably looked like a clown. I was not really a fan of those girly stuffs.

Walking a few feet in front of me was a couple. Well it looked more like strolling than dating to me. The girl was trying to suppress a giggle but ended up laughing hysterically. The girl had her hand on the boy's arm, and was leaning onto the boy as they walked.

" That was a good one! " The only person I knew with that kind of annoying voice is no other person but Dayah. And it really is her. She kept clapping her hands while laughing. Looks like she has lost her sanity.

The boy with Dayah looked familiar.

It took me a moment to realise who he was. My heart skipped a beat, followed by a series of questions.

Isn't that Richard that's walking with Dayah? Why are they walking together to school? Are they dating?!

We stopped and reached the traffic light. I kept a 5 meter distance away from them. After a few more seconds of Dayah's laughs and giggles, Richard glanced back to my direction.

I quickly took out my phone from my pocket and pretended that I was talking to somebody on the phone. I did not want to look like a loner or a loser to him.

Dayah turned her head behind to see me too. All of a sudden my phone rang. Really at this timing?! Richard let out a light chuckle and Dayah had that weird expression that as if I was some kind of weirdo.

I felt my face warm up with a red blush. Ohh how embarrassing. I answered the call, not bothering to look at who it was.

"What do you want?!" I whispered angrily.

"Hey calm down. It's me Ron" I let out a sigh to calm myself as I walked to school as soon as the greenlight went on.

"Sorry Ron. It's just that.." I paused for awhile as I remembered how close Richard and Dayah was.

"Is it about Richard?" Ron said before I could even continue. He knew me so well.

"Yep... you guessed it, I'll talk to you about it later." I said, hanging up the phone and stormed to my locker.

I took out my books for my geography class. I slammed my locker hard and sighed as I stared at the locker blankly.

I felt so jealous and angry. I know I shouldn't be. Richard and I are not even in a relationship, far worse than that, we haven't even talked for once!

I think I almost stood there for about a minute when I heard light footsteps coming closer to me.

There was a fake cough and then there was a hand waving in front of my face. I turned around and looked up to see the person right in front of me. Suddenly, all of my jealousy and anger faded as soon as i saw the person.
