Morning came. The ragdoll slowly rose from her bed, sitting up on the edge for a few moments before standing up. She smoothed out the wrinkles on her dress and left her room for breakfast.
"Odd catchin' you up so late, dolly."
Said Jax, greeting her as she arrived at the table. She took a seat right next to him.
"What happened to 'good morning'?"
"What can I say? I like to experiment, dollface."
Ragatha chuckles, eating her breakfast. They all finish up and go their separate ways. Lunch came and went was usual. It was around dinner time when Ragatha's whole digital world came falling down.
She remembered it clearly. It hadn't even been her fault.
Jax had gotten a hold of a centipede. A large one.
"Hey, dolly."
"Hm?-"
Ragatha could barely respond when her mouth was covered by Jax's hand. He began to dangle the centipede in her face.
"Look at him, dolly! I think I'll name him.. Andy! Whatd'ya think?"
"Mmmm!!! Mmm!!!"
"Ah, you're right.. maybe I'll name him 'Jax Number 2" instead."
"Mmmmmm!!!"
Ragatha struggled against Jax's hold as he continued to dangle the centipede in her face. Finally, he let go, laughing.
"Ah man, you should've seen the look on your-"
"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU, JAX?!"
"Awe, are you mad, dollface?"
"YES I AM! YOU PUT A CENTIPEDE IN MY FACE, KNOWING D^$^ WELL I'M SCARED OF THEM!"
"Okay, uh, let's calm down Raggs-"
"NO! I HATE YOU, JAX! WHY CAN'T YOU JUST ABSTRACT ALREADY?!"
That was the final blow. Jax stood there in shock at Ragatha's words. She was still angry, and didn't seem to care about what she said in that moment. All the rabbit could do was stand there and listen to her tell him off. Finally, he walked away. He walked into his room and shut the door behind him. He then walked up to the photo of them together pinned to his wall.
"Why can't I abstract already? Tch! What a joke."
He ripped the photo from the wall, tossing it onto the floor.
"Of course, I knew this would happen. She'd hate me, like the others. Such a liar."
He said in a fit of unjust anger. talking to himself. He was angry. But he was also hurt. Hurt at the fact that his dolly said that to him. He knew it was his fault, but he just couldn't accept it.
The following day was the worst.
Ragatha woke up the day after their argument, much more calmed than before. She straightened out her dress and left her room for breakfast. When she made it to the table, however, there was no greeting from Jax. She knew what she said was wrong, and had been meaning to apologize. She sat down beside Jax."Hey, Jax I-"
Without warning, Jax stood up and left the table, not bothering to finish his breakfast. On another occasion, Ragatha passed Jax in the hallway and tried talking to him then.
"Jax, listen-"
Jax kept walking, completely ignoring her. Ragatha stood there, watching as he left. She decided enough was enough.
-Some time later-
Ragatha burst into Jax's room. Jax looked over at her, then looked away. He got up, ready to leave the room, until Ragatha stopped him.
She shoved him, causing him to fall back onto his bed.
"What was that for?!-"
"You've got some nerve to go around ignoring me and act like I don't exist, Jax."
"Oh, so what, you're mad now?"
"Yes, I am, Jax. You keep ignoring me!"
"Gee, shocker. What was it you said, Ragatha? 'Why can't you just abstract already'?"
"You know I didn't mean that, Jax!"
"Sure, like I'm just supposed to believe that."
Tears began to roll down her cheeks as she looked at Jax. Her whole world had come crashing down in the span of two days. All because of a few words she shouted at him. Was her anger justified? Yes. Was she justified saying that to Jax. No. And she knew it. She put her head down and began to sob, her tears falling onto Jax's overalls.
"P-Please, I'm sorry.."
She said, through her tears. She was met with silence..
..And a hand drying her tears. She looked up to face Jax, who was now slightly smiling.
"That's all you had to say, dolly. C'mere."
Jax pulled the ragdoll into a hug, where she began to full-on sob in his arms. She stayed there in his embrace for hours, fearing that he'd ignore her again if she were to separate from him. Finally, she stopped crying.
"Feeling better, dolly?"
"..Mhm.."
"That's good."
He said, nuzzling the top of her head.
"Jax.. can you promise me something..?"
"Sure dolly."
"Please don't abstract, I didn't mean it.."
"Still hung up on that, huh, Raggs? Don't worry, I'm not really in the mood to abstract right now."
"..Good."
They ended up sleeping together, Ragatha too upset to move from her spot.
Morning came. Ragatha laid on top of Jax, neither of them having moved from their spot since last night. Ragatha was the first to wake up. She slowly raised herself to look at Jax, who was still sleeping. She admired him like this, forgetting about the events of yesterday. Forgetting that she had almost lost him. Forgetting about the world around them. She moved up slightly, planted a quick kiss on his forhead, then rested back on him. Just a few minutes later, Jax woke up. They both then got up and left for breakfast. The entire time, Jax didn't notice the lipstick on his forehead.
