I know it's a bit out of season but just go with it aha! I miss Christmas!
*Abby's POV*
It's Christmas Eve and I am standing in the kitchen gazing out of the window, staring at the snow. Hasn't this past year been a whirlwind, hey? Riker's been gone for most the year with the band, Ellie is still strongly fighting against cancer and I am just living my life letting things get in or out of my way. I've put my family first this past year, Riker, Ellie and I, I haven't really done anything for me but I guess my daughter and husband need my support.
I hear a scratch and an open of a door. I look towards the front door.
"Surprise!" Riker says with bags full of presents, probably mainly for Ellie.
I walk up to him, tears appearing in my eyes and I give him a massive hug. This is the first time I've seen him in ages, "This is the best Christmas present anyone could ever have." I rest my head on his shoulders.
"I've missed this." Riker sighs.
"Me too. I'm just so happy you're here!"
"Dada." A little figure appears and you can tell Riker is getting extremely emotional over this as he hasn't seen her in a few months. It's just so overwhelming that we are all back together. He walks over to Ellie and picks her up and walks into the living room where I follow.
"Who did the Christmas tree, Ellie?" Riker asks our daughter. Ellie points to me and then back to her, "Ohh, so Miss Ellie Lynch and Mrs Abby Lynch worked together!" He says in a voice so Ellie could understand that he's talking to her. I'm so happy we can be a family for Christmas.
"Well, someone better be getting to sleep as Father Christmas will be here soon!" I say taking Ellie off of Riker and start carrying her to her crib. I lay her down and her eyes shut almost instantly.
"Now," Riker starts, "Where did we leave off?" He says and begins to kiss me passionately.
I've missed this.
- Next Day // Christmas -
I open my eyes and smile. It's Christmas. I turn to my left and see Riker staring at the ceiling, he turns to me once he realises I'm awake.
"Morning Mrs Lynch!" He says in his morning voice that I have missed so much.
"Morning Mr Lynch!" We just stare into each others eyes until a cry makes us aware Ellie is awake, "Time to open presents!" I say excitedly.
I love Christmas!
---------
Riker, Ellie and I gather around the Christmas tree which is surrounded with presents. As soon as we had walked into the living room Ellie's face lit up, it was so sweet!
It takes us a good three hours to open all our presents and another hour getting ready to go to Stormie and Marks house for the Christmas Dinner which I know will be amazing! We will all be reunited as a whole family, I have a feeling that this Christmas will be the best one yet! A loud one but a great one!
Once we had arrived at the wonderful house of Stormie and Mark, we played a load of board games, wii games and games which I was terrible at... charades. It was a great laugh anyway!
I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my Christmas than with the Lynches, my parents and my family. I love each and everyone of them.
