Chapter 12 | Progress.

-Abby's POV-

It's been almost 6 months since we found out Ellie had cancer. It was hard in the beginning, but with the support from both sides of the families, we managed to become much more stronger towards the situation.

R5 are still on tour. I wouldn't let them just stop their tour because of Ellie. I just said I'll fly back to Cali and move back in with my Mum and Dad until they arrive back from tour. Mum and Dad were fine with it. They loved spending time with Ellie.

I need my parents support at the moment as well as everyone elses.

Ellie has already started getting treatment for the cancer and I think things are going well. Riker calls every night to check up on us, that's what I love about him. He's so caring; I'm really a lucky girl.

The doctors keep saying the treatment is working, that she will need maybe a few more months treatment and then everything will hopefully be back to normal. Hopefully being the key word there.

I don't think Riker and I ever expected this to happen. Of course we didn't because cancer is so... unexpected. My grandad died of it. Back then I don't know what I would've done without him, I still don't know now, but I was told to just be as normal as I possibly can. My family didn't have much support to support each other with back then which is why my nan lost it and was put into a old peoples home. Luckily, Riker and I have a big family and my parents to support us. We love them all so incredibly much and we don't know what we'd do without them.

After what had seemed forever we were able to take our weak baby back to the hotel to get some food inside of her.

"How are you feeling, honey?"

"Better." I reply to Riker. I smile and he smiles too, "I'm going to make my way back to Cali tomorrow. Is that okay?"

"That's fine, we need her to get better. It's horrible seeing her like this."

We both look over to her and just stare for a couple of minutes.

"I'm tired so I'm going to get ready for bed and sleep!"

Riker laughs, "You do that, I'll join you in a few minutes."

I'm sorry I haven't been on loads, I've been super busy. But my exams have just finished so I can hopefully be more active! Let's get this sequel back on the road!
Anyway, better go as I'm off to the cinema for my mums birthday and Father's Day!
