4 months later in Yorknew City.
"Do you really have to go so far away?" I asked Hisoka who looked at me in amusement. The imprinting took place within the first week together. I definitely didn't like him going to far from me and he knew it. He liked it. He loved the attention I gave him and found it amusing and 'adorable'.
"Of course. We will be here for 10 days at the least. It took about 6 days for you to start to love me did it not? What if you you imprint on one of the Troupe members. Or worse yet, what if they decide you will be worth money and kill you? Then we'll have a war on our hands that neither of us can win my little fox. I'll be back." He said walking to the door. I gave a short whine in anxiety to which he looked over his shoulders no longer amused but worried.
"If you worry so much why don't you watch the base from a safe distance then? You remember Zetsu? I taught it to you. Use it all night and watch us. Will that make you more comfortable?" I nodded slowly. He turned with a sadistic smile.
"That's a good girl. Now come along. I'll tell you where you can watch from. Don't draw any attention to yourself. I'd really like to not lose you if I can help it." My tail twitched in happiness at his words. I had a feeling this was the longest he has ever been constantly with someone through out his life. He struggled to do things that made us both happy. I don't think he's used to having someone to take care of either. I'm not used to having imprinted on someone. I want to feel embarrassed for being so clingy and protective over him but I can't. It comes natural to need to be with him all the time. It's a struggle for both of us but I'm happy. I know he is too just because I'm still around.
"Up there. Don't move but if you fall asleep make sure to wake up and run if anyone notices you. I'll see you later my little fox." He put a hand on my cheek before scratching my ear and disappearing from sight. I saw him again on the ground, walking toward the base. I could hear them talking inside and feel how strong they were. I smiled down at him. He knew exactly what I wanted. I was wearing my purple cloak so I blended in fairly well with the night, barely noticeable.
"Damn that Hisoka! I'm gonna tear him limb from limb when I see him again!" A booming voice yelled. Don't get mad. Your aura will spike. I did however let my tail twitch in irritation. These were his group members? They weren't very nice to each other. I felt Hisoka's aura spike slightly before a light went out.
"Oh my. That sounds quite gruesome. How very scary."
"Hisoka you bastard!" The booming voice yelled at him.
"I thought you weren't coming." A female voice said coldly.
"Had I not shown then I wouldn't get to see your Nen threads anymore." He said huskily to whoever the female was. After they discussed plans and a bunch of members left Hisoka sat in the window where I could see him. He looked at me and gave me closed eyed happy smile. How long was this night going to be? My ears twitched constantly, looking for any kind of noise or aura that had ill intention towards me. I couldn't be caught. He told me that one of them in the group is faster than him and if he finds me to immediately grow as many tails as it takes to fend him off until I can get away. I get faster with each tail and he told me the second one would probably be enough to outrun him but he wasn't sure. Either way I should try not to get caught. Hisoka told me he was going to meet with someone tonight about getting rid of the Phantom Troupe members. I knew he wasn't a real member and I was fully prepared to give my life to protect him if they were to find out and attack. Nothing is happening. Hisoka looked out the window again and motioned me to go to sleep for a bit. I nodded before curling in a ball and passing out.Time skip brought to you by Hisoka and he's actually being nice to someone. <3
"Oh I almost forgot. I have some things to do. I'll be heading out now?" My ears perked up when Hisoka spoke. It was probably midnight or 1.
"That's fine. Up to no good Hisoka?" That was a nice voice. It sounded like it was in between calm and insane at the same time.
"Of course." I saw him walking out of the building but stayed where I was. When he made it to me he pulled my hood off and ruffled my ears a little bit.
"Shall we go then?" I nodded happily. We ran through the city to the other side. And entered an abandoned carnival place. He sat on an old unicorn thing and pulled me into his lap to pet me.
"Hisoka!" I hissed struggling to get free. He must be in a good mood. He usually petted me when he was. I hated him treating me like an actual pet instead of a partner. He finally let me up after my fur was all messed up and took out a deck of cards to pass the time with. I went to go smooth myself back out while he chuckled and watched me with amusement. While he threw a card ever minute I took my time in putting every hair back in place.
"Geez. Messing up my fur like that. Don't you know animals hate that?" I complained at him breaking the silence between us. He looked at me with a smirk.
"Of course. But its cute when you get so flustered over it." His words sent a flush on my face.
"How would you like it if I messed up your hair?" That wouldn't work. He has like endless patience.
"I wouldn't mind. You always lick my hair in your sleep along with yours. And then you kneed in my back before relaxing again."
"What!? No I don't." This was the first I'm hearing of this.
"Why would I lie about that?" He asked me with a smirk.
"It's c-c-cleaning. I'm cleaning. Or maybe your hair jell tastes good..." I trailed off in thought to which he chuckled again.
"Either way, I don't mind little fox. I've gotten used to it and it would be hard to fall asleep without it now." I really liked his rare compliments like that. I beamed at him before going back to fixing myself in a comfortable silence.
"What would you do if a fight broke out between me and the Troupe? Or who we're about to meet?" He asked me suddenly. I looked up at him to see he was serious.
"You told me to not get involved in your fights unless you asked me for it."
"And if I did. If I were to lose and become seriously injured. What would you do little fox?" I didn't even take time to think about it.
"I'd never let you get hurt that bad. Even against your orders I'd jump in and protect you before you can be injured too badly. Think of me as a shield to use at your leisure." I told him with a small sad smile. I knew my place but it still hurt a little inside that he could possibly just be using me.
"Now now little fox. How could I possibly think so small of you? You've become my only friend and full time partner. Don't look so sad. I wouldn't use you as a shield. We're equals remember?" I looked at him in confusion.
"But... But you... We made this deal knowing I'd just be a tool for you to use and in return you take care of me." He looked down at me seriously and looked almost angry for a minute. I felt my ear twitch as new footsteps came from behind me. I jumped behind Hisoka and pulled my cloak on to hide my tails and ears. A young boy with blonde hair walked by us. He had a stoic expression and radiated confidence. Hisoka threw down a card to collect his attention. The boy turned and activated his aura immediately. I copied the move from beside Hisoka but he put a hand on my shoulder.
"Don't worry I have no interest in fighting you now." He told the boy while I dispersed my deadly aura.
"Well get on with it. I hate idle talk." He told Hisoka and sending his own aura away as well.
"Really? I love idle talk." Hisoka chuckled before turning serious and amused at the same time.
"Rem, why don't you go get something to eat. I'll join you shortly." He told me with a meaningful side look. The other kid wasn't comfortable with my presence and probably wouldn't give him what he wanted if I stayed. I nodded and walked towards the boy, passing him without a word or look. Once I was out of his sight I got on all fours and began running through the city by roof top. I wasn't going very fast. It wouldn't probably take Hisoka an hour or so to catch up with me. He would be able to follow my aura trail I was leaving behind for him. After almost 20 minutes of running at a peaceful pace something caught my attention. I looked to my right and saw a huge man jumping out of a window. He looked at me. We both stopped moving. He had a super strong aura. He was giant. At least 8 and a half feet tall. I stood on two legs again and backed away from him.
"Who are you? Why were you running on all fours if you have legs?" Shit. Hisoka. Where are you? I felt this aura. It was one of the Troupe members. I needed to run. My legs wouldn't move though. This was fear. He took a step towards me and I finally found it in me to jump away. In mid air something caught me and flung me backwards. It was Hisoka. He caught me and we dropped away from the big guy's sight. I could still hear his breathing while he muttered under his breath and started running away from where we were.
"That was a little too close little fox. What did I tell you?" Hisoka sounded irritated as he held me in place to his chest.
"His aura was huge and dangerous. There was something very animalistic about him too. I got scared and froze up. I'm sorry." I apologized looking down at our feet.
"Hmm...That pause could have been the death of you had he not been curious enough to ask you a question. It took you too long to run away." He still hadn't let me go which told me exactly how pissed he was. If he were to let go and look at me he would probably kick my ass.
"I'm sorry. I won't make the same mistake twice." I told him wrapping my arms around to his back. He sighed and let go to look at me.
"Of course you wouldn't. Let's go get something to eat." I nodded not looking up at him.
