"You did nothing wrong, Nwa m nwanyi, kaodi. Ebezi na," Ada gazed upon her mother's face. She was radiant, ethereal and... ephemeral.

"Mama, you don't know what I've done!" She cried.

"Ozugu! I know what happened. Blame me and blame your father. You inherited our problems. You are a child and are not responsible for your parents. Hate me, because you should".

"No! Never! I love you. I love you!" Ada fought fiercely to get closer.

"Then love yourself more. We did worse things to you and you don't hate us so, why do you hate yourself when all you've done was try to protect yourself every step of the way?".

Ada woke on her back, a tear trickling down her left eye.

She felt incredibly sad, but... not? She didn't quite understand, but the day called.

"He-"

"Fuck, make some noise next time you walk up on someone!" Ryot yelled as the team spun in fright at Ada's intrusion.

"Sorry... so, how are you?" Ada realized this was the first time she had ever asked them this question.

"Great! Shadow finally learned to dislocate his right thumb!" Aura reeled excitedly.

"Oh! I can- er- so his other fingers could be dislocated just not the right thumb?" Ada was really starting to see just how much she unconsciously started talking about herself. How many times had she done that?

Boo gave Aura a glance that only they knew what it meant.

"Correct!" Aura answered.

"Cool...," Ada awkwardly commented. Wow, she really doesn't know what to say next...

"How about the rest of you? Any new accomplishments?" She tried.

"I've started reading the book you suggested," Elfie supplied.

"What do you think about it?" Ada followed.

Elfie gave his thoughts and analyses, and Ada found that he was incredibly insightful! The discussion naturally died down and Ada directed her attention to Ryot.

"Any new updates in your life, Ryot?".

"Uh- I watched the guy you recommended on YouTube... his content is so interesting! I mean, I wish I had his knowledge back when we did that op and crash-landed on that uninhabited island," she turned to Shadow and Boo.

"You're right/you're totally right," they agreed.

"Tell me about that op, if you can?".

"Yeah, it's no secret mission. Well..." Ada listened with rapt attention as Ryot detailed the event with Boo and Shadow supplementing where needed.

Wow, they've been through a lot together...

Ada was grateful that she got the opportunity to hear these things from more experienced people. It dawned on her that even if she was smarter, it doesn't stop her from learning from everyone.

Her previous arrogance baffled her...

Finally, she turned to Boo.

"So, how about you? Any new achievements?".

"Well, I got to meet an incredibly brilliant little lady and she taught me to braid a rope from grass...," by the end of his sentence, Ada figured he was talking about her, and the thought made her blush a little.
