Chapter 29

"Thank you for shopping with us." The customer grabbed the shopping bag, and left the shop. I rolled my eyes, this job sucked. It is taking over my whole spring break! I mean can't I get a couple days off? Well it doesn't matter, my spring break would have sucked with a job or without one. Ever since my birthday party when Aimee spilled about Kobe and I dating none of my friends would speak to me. They got really mad that I didn't tell them. The only one who isn't mad at me is Rose, but she is off visiting some family. Kobe is supposed to leave for Michigan in a few days, so I won't be able to see him. It was 5:00 on a Saturday. Which mean't my shift was over. I clocked out, and then I noticed my boss walking up to me. Oh no, was I in trouble?

"Paris?" She looks at me confused," Why are you here?"

"Umm...I was just leaving," I reply with a confused look in my eye.

"No, I mean I gave all my high school employees the next week off."

"Oh, no one told me that," I reply.

"Oh, I guess I forgot to introduce you to my assistant, she was supposed to let my high school employees know about their vacation," my boss says," Here follow me." As she walked, my boss kept talking.

"And for your great work today, you will get paid."

"Oh, thank Ms. Clark." We stop outside a door that said Assistant Manager. Ms.Clark knocked on the door.

"Sweetie, its your mom," Ms. Clark called. I look at her confused.

"Oh, my Assistant Manager is also my daughter."

"Oh, how....sweet." Someone opens the door, and my jaw drops.

"Paris?" The Assistant Manager looks at me surprised.

"Aimee?!" I reply even more surprised.

"Oh, you two know each other?" Ms. Clark asks.

"Yeah, your daughter goes to my school..,"I answer with a fake smile.

"You work here," Aimee laughs. I nod.

"Oh, Aimee, darling, you must have forgotten to tell Miss Paris about her vacation."

"Oh I must have, sorry about that." Aimee gives me a fake smile.

"I don't understand, how is she your daughter?" I ask,"Your last name is Clark and Aimee's is Hart?"

"Oh, well I got a divorce with my husband, Aimee's father, and I now use my maiden name,"Ms. Clark explains. I give her a fake smile. Great! My arch enemy is now my bosses daughter AND her Assistant Manager. I'm assuming I won't keep this job much longer.

"And she works there, as the Assistant Manager!" I vent to Rose over the phone.

"I'm sorry about this whole mess, but I can't talk now, my family is making me go eat out with them," Rose explains.

"That's fine, have fun. Talk to you later."

"Bye," she replies, hanging up the phone. I fall back on my bed. Can my Spring Break suck even more than it already does? Only one of my friends will talk to me, my boyfriend is leaving the state for a week, and I can't escape my arch enemy. All of a sudden my phone rings. I look at the Caller I.D. It was Kobe.

"Hello," I answer the phone.

"Hey, babe," he replies.

"Did you need something?" I ask.

"Well I was wondering if you wanted to go to Michigan with my family and I."

"Really!" I ask excitedly.
