Adam and Rose ran along a corridor with De Maggio, "Civilians, let them through!" she yelled, as they ran through an incoming group of guards.

"Stairs! That's more like it!" Rose exclaimed and let out a breath of relief, as they reached a set of stairs, "It hasn't got legs! It's stuck!"

"It's coming! Get up!" De Maggio yelled at the pair. They only ran up a short amount, before turning around and watched as the dalek made it's way into the stairwell.

"Great big alien death machine, defeated by a flight of stairs." Adam mocked it. De Maggio turned at pointed her gun at it.

"Now listen to me. I demand that you return to your cage. If you want to negotiate, then I can guarantee that Mister Van Statten will be willing to talk. I accept that we imprisoned you and maybe that was wrong, but people have died, and that stops right now. The killing stops. Have you got that? I demand that you surrender. Is that clear?"

"Elevate."

Rose's eyes widened at this, looking at the dalek in fear as it glided up the stairs towards them.

"Oh my god."

"Adam, get her out of here." De Maggio ordered him.

"Come with us. You can't stop it." Rose begged her.

De Maggio shook her head pushing Rose into Adams arms.

"Someone's going to try. Now get out! Don't look back! Just run!" she yelled as Adam pulled Rose away.

Rose and Adam came into view of the armed soldiers, "Hold your fire!" one of them ordered, "You two, get the hell out of here!" he yelled at them. Without a second thought they ran through the guards at the entrance. They once again stopped, as the dalek appeared in the room.

It turned its dome in their direction, but mostly towards Rose. It zoomed in on her face, looking right at her.

At this Adam grabbed her arm roughly and began dragging her out of the area.

"It was looking at me."

"Yeah, it wants to slaughter us." Adam deadpanned, pulling her further away.

"But it was looking right at me."

"So? It's just a sort of metal eye thing. It's looking al around." he told her as they continued along.

"Perhaps it's time for a new strategy. Maybe we should consider abandoning this place." Van Statten mumbled, and not so subtly hinting that they should leave the place.

"Except there's no power to the helipad, Sir. We can't get out." Goddard angrily reminded him.

"you said you could seal the vault." the doctor said.

"It was designed to be a bunker in the event of a nuclear war. Steel bunkheads." Van Statten replied.

"Theres not enough power, those bulkheads are massive." Goddard said.

"Weøve got emergency power. We can re-route that to the bulkhead doors." The doctor pointed out.

"We'd have to bypass the security codes. That would take a computer genius."

"Good thing you've got me, then." Van Statten replied. The doctor turned to look at him surprised, "You want to help? And besides, didn't you say that you'd bring up your other 'pet'?" the doctor spat at the man.
