37: Team 10 Joining

Camie and Bakugo had time to kill, so Camie asked Hanabi to take them to the ramen place. She was not going to visit Naruto's village and not try that.

Hanabi was fine with that, and the ramen was "the bomb" as Camie put it.

Bakugo had no critiques, so he must have liked it.

Hanabi asked them more about who they were and why they had not been on the first visit, which she got confusing answers to, since Camie's answer sounded like a foreign language and Bakugo's sounded non-existent.

After the meal, Camie wanted to explore the village and made Bakugo come with her (though what else he was going to do, he had no idea).

"It's so kuwai," Camie said. "I wish I had my camera."

"You can tell Pain really totaled this place," was Bakugo's cheerful comment.

They went by the kage house. 

"Oh, my dad would kill me if he knew I was here," Camie said. "He'd be all over this. Don't you wish you could tell your parents?"

"We're not here to sightsee, Meme Queen," Bakugo said. "We're here to get s--- done."

"I know, but no one said we couldn't also sightsee," Camie protested. "Come on, it's like if Disneyworld was real, bae. You wouldn't want to get that?"

Bakugo was spared answering her by someone coming out of the kage house. A few someones, actually.

Shikamaru, Choji, his dad Chosa, and Ino.

They didn't look like they were in a great mood.

"Hey guys," Camie waved.

Shikamaru looked up. "Oh...I didn't even know you were still in the village."

"I heard you were staying with the Hyugas," Ino said. "Is that true?"

"I guess we did them a solid by saving Neji," Camie shrugged. "So they owe us. Not that I really did that, but we get the clap."

Chosa gave her an odd look.

"Well, we should thank you for your help," Shikamaru said, not sounding very happy. "I'm told that you guys really saved our necks yesterday."

"Oh, it was no big. We do that all the time." Camie waved it off.

"You'd better remember it," Bakugo said. "We're the best."

Shikamaru didn't seem impressed by that statement. "Well, you can do amazing things."

"Dad, this is Utsushimi Camie and Bakugo Katsuki," Choji said to his father. "They're friends of the Kazekage and Shikamaru also."

"Bro, we can be your friends too," Camie said. "I'm down."

Chosa gave her another strange look. "Well, it's an honor to meet anyone who helps the villages," he said formally. "I should go, still plenty of work to do."

He bowed and walked away.

Ino tugged her hair awkwardly.

"What was that?" Camie wondered.

"Uh..." Ino said, "Chosa is just, you know, he's just a little down because of..." She trailed off.

Bakugo had totally forgotten that Ino's father Inochi, and Shikamaru's father Shikaku had both died in the war.

Camie was about to ask what was bothering him, and Bakugo gave her a nudge and whispered to her.

"Oh? Oh!" Camie's eyes widened. "Crap, how did that slip my mind...?"
