My strigoi guardian. (Vampire Academy FanFic)

Introduction

There are three main supernaturals in my world. You should probably know about them.

We have our MOROI, the living vampire, they're mortal and can die although they don't get ill and live to over 100 in most cases, the MOROI are born not made. MOROI can withstand sunlight but it weakens them, therefore they must limit their exposure to sunlight and start their day at sundown.

MOROI are tall and have very pale skin. MOROI have superhuman hearing, smell and sight, as well as elemental magic. Cool, right?

There are four main elements.
EARTH: Earth users are able to manipulate the ground and make earthquakes, rot wood and throw rocks or balls of mud with their mind.
AIR: Air users can manipulate the air y doing things as simple as a mild breeze to suffocating an enemy by removing all the air from the room.
WATER: A water user can manipulate water, moving it down on an enemy to drown them.
FIRE: The most effective MOROI to be used in combat against STRIGOI, fire can be used to make the air warm, create fire balls and light objects/people ablaze.

There is also a fifth, SPIRIT. Only a few MOROI have this ability and is often not noticed and the MOROI is considered a late bloomer or don't specialise in any element.
SPIRIT: Spirit users can heal plants, animals, dream-walk, see auras, compel others with great intensity, create healing charms, and most important, bring someone back who has recently died. This makes the subject 'Shadow-Kissed'.

We have 12 royal MOROI family's. Although MOROI live inside human-run countries they have their own king or queen from one of the 12 MOROI family's. MOROI royals are always given a DHAMPIR guardian. The 12 royal family's from smallest to largest:
DRAGOMIR
BADICA
CONTA
OZERA
TARUS
DASHKOV
VODA
LAZAR
DROZDOV
ZEKLOS
SZELSKY
IVASHKOV

We then have our DHAMPIR guardians. They protect the MOROI at all costs. DHAMPIRS were originally the offspring of MOROI and HUMAN couplings, but since vampires retreated from the human world, they are now the mix of MOROI and DHAMPIR - A mix that will still produce half MOROI and half DHAMPIR although you'd think you'd get 3/4 of MOROI and DHAMPIR. DHAMPIRS are unable to reproduce with each other and need MOROI in order to have children.

DHAMPIRS get strength and endurance from their human side and enhanced senses and fast reflexes from their MOROI side.

DHAMPIRS do not feed on blood and are tolerant to sunlight unlike MORIS and STRIGOI.

And the third? That's me, the STRIGOI. They are the undead, evil, immortal vampires and are unable to withstand sunlight.

STRIGOI are driven by their despite for blood - MOROI blood in particular. MOROI blood will make a STRIGOI stronger and harder to destroy.

STRIGOI have better strength, reflexes and senses than DHAMPIRS and are almost impossible to kill. While STRIGOI power and strength increase with their age it's rare to find them living together and often turn on each other when in groups.

All HUMANS, DHAMPIRS and MOROI can be made STRIGOI by force. After been bitten one time or more and then fed the blood of a STRIGOI (voluntarily or not) they will be made a STRIGOI by force.

MOROI tempted by immortality could become STRIGOI purposely by killing another person while feeding. This is considered dark and twisted, the greatest of all sins in MOROI life and nature itself.

STRIGOI can be killed by one of 3 ways.

SILVER STAKES: Stabbing a STRIGOI through the heart with a silver stake means instant death.
DECAPITATION: To cut of a STRIGOIS head (or anyone else's) would result in death. But Decapitating a STRIGOI is one of the hardest ways to kill them.
FIRE: Lighting a STRIGOI is another way to kill a STRIGOI

And me? I'm a STRIGOI, I was turned by force from a STRIGOI, I'd like to say I didn't know his name nor his face... But I did. His name, was Dimitri.

But all I can say, is that it's a good job I was a trained DHAMPIR before I was turned, and this new life.

I'm loving it.
