/ I had such a hard time writing, every time I went to update my mind went blank, and for the wait I am truly sorry for all of you. /

"I love you." I said with so much certainty as I reached up and made a meneuver that allowed me to both slide my stake up through his ribs into Dimitri's heart and get a grip on the bridge we were on. I watched his face fall into a look half despair and half agony.

"That's what I was supposed to say..." He gasped.

X.

I just killed the love of my life, the man who I planned to live the rest of my life with, the man who I planned to protect Lissa with. Dead, all in a few seconds. I watched as his body, with my stake buried in his chest, float down the river. I wanted to cry, but my body couldn't find the energy to do so, I wanted to be sad, grieving, distraught, but I couldn't find the will to do so, I wanted to keep heading to the city lights that seemed so close yet so far but I just couldn't...

My reasoning of not wanting to die and needing to get back to Lissa got the best of me, getting up with great effort I dragged my aching, hurt body towards the cities glow. I could feel Lissa's emotions so strongly that with every step I took towards the city lights my body felt less battered and bruised.

And that's when I heard it, no felt it, the sickening feeling strong in my stomach. Someone, something was here, a shaky breath passed my swollen lips. "Have you forgotten everything I taught you." It stated more than asked. No.... I thought, it can't be. I turned around and for the second time tonight I became face to face once again with my dead lover. "You forgot to check my body." Dimitri answered his question for me, his voice in a hushed "duh" tone.

I had no words to give this man, the man who held me hostage, the man who fed from my neck, the man I gave my everything to. "Common Roza... Where's that sass of yours?" A low chuckle emitted from his throat, his feet slowly closing the distance between us only for me to take hasty steps back away from him. He'd sigh dramatically, "Well, I guess you give me no choice."

"Choice? What choice?" I'd ask, foolishly of me.

"To kill you."
