Chapter 20
Matao
"Do you really mean it?" I begin questioning if I should have done this is the first place. She nods looking confused. River is no fucking liar. I kiss her once more before I walk inside, I rush up the stairs and go into River's room. I flick the light on not caring that he is still asleep, and he begins waking up slowly. I close the door and sit on his bed, he eventually sits up and he honestly looks pissed, but I couldn't care less right now. I hug him and he looks at me confused "thank you for telling me"His confused expression just got ten times more confused. It probably isn't helping that I'm telling him this when I just woke him up, but I can't wait "she really does love me, she told me". His face lights up and he hugs me.
"I deserve noodles for that" he laughs and lays back down. I turn the light off before leaving the room.
My heart is literally exploding. I walk downstairs and see Adeline sitting on the lounge, she is scrolling on her phone silently. She didn't notice I was there until my stomach grumbled and she looked up at me, she laughed and looked away again. Look at me again, laugh at me again, smile. I don't care what you do but just let me see your face. I sighed and walked into the kitchen to get some breakfast. I pull out a pan and place it on the stove, I get some eggs, bacon, and spinach. I turn on the stove and crack the eggs into a bowl. "Can I help?" Adeline asks shyly "I haven't cooked in such a long time."
"Of course, come here" I say and wave her over. She walks over and leans against the counter and looks at the ingredients on the chopping board.
"What are you making?" She asks.
"Omelettes" I say and look over at her. I hand her an egg "here" she looks at the bowl with the egg before cracking it into the bowl. I start chopping up the vegetables while she watches, and I throw them into the bowl with the cracked eggs. I push the bowl towards her and hand her a whisk, she starts whisking the ingredients together. "So... this morning?"
"Umm yeah, what about it?" She asks.
"Are we like a thing now?" I ask.
She stops mixing for a minute, she looks at me. I cant tell what she is thinking, the way she looks at me is so different from the way she has looked at me before. She hesitates before going onto her tiptoes, she places a soft kiss on my lips, before she lowers herself down again "I think so" she says before she turns back to the food and continues whisking the eggs. She stops whisking the gas again and changes her stance, one knee bends slightly and she becomes shorter. She looks up at me like she wants to ask something. I nod. "What do you think?"
I'm shocked by the question, usually when she asks me something it's just silly questions, even though I know what I think I'm still a little bit shocked. I lean and kiss her deeply "does that answer your question?"
She giggles and blushes at the intrusion "really, I want to hear you say it" she says.
"I love you" I reply confidently. She giggles and blushes, she looks at the floor to try hide it but it's not helping very much "you look like you should be kicking your feet as well right now" she laughs. Before fixing her stance and whisking the eggs "I think that whisked enough now" I chuckle. She picks up the bowl and puts it into the pan. I mould the front of my body to her back and wrap my arms around her waist. She freezes and I start placing small kisses on her shoulder and neck.
"That's ticklish" she giggles and tries to wriggle away. Pull her closer and squeeze her tight. "Mmm comfy" she giggles. I keep kissing her "cmon stop" she laughs still trying to get away. She tries more than before. I reach over and turn the pan off before picking her up and dumping her on the lounge "hey- "she doesn't get to finish her sentence before I start tickling her, she rolls around trying to get me to stop "hey-no... ahahaa!" she keeps trying to squirm away. I keep tickling her until her breath sounds choppy.
"You ok?" I chuckle. And pull her up by her arms into a sitting position.
I giggle "yeah I'm ok" she says slightly breathless "you know, I love you".
"Yeah" I say and kiss her neck again, she giggles.
The end... for now
