Chapter 3
Matao
She's hugging me. Not some other person that she knows. Me. And I don't know what to do. My stomach is doing somersaults in my stomach, and I am panicking so I just squeeze her in tighter. My body Finaly relaxes when she squeezes me. She snuggles her face into my chest, and I can feel my shirt getting damp from her tears. I bring a hand from her back and hold her head with it. I feel her flinch as the bell rings, and I know that there is no way I am going to class or letting her go while she is a total mess. I let go of her and step back, by the look on her face I can tell her heart just dropped in her chest. I can see her eyes begin to well up again, so I grab her hand and drag her behind me back out the school entrance.
The breeze hits me as we jog down the stairs, I continue to hold her as we make our way past the shops near the school. I can feel her slowing down so I run into an alleyway once we are 4 blocks from the school. We are both speechless for a minute as we try to catch our breaths. Her long brown hair has been blown back from the breeze and has fallen around her shoulders so perfectly. I take a minute to take in her features as she catches her breath. I can tell she is still shocked by the way her eyes are open wider. Her cheeks are still red, and her eyes are still puffy from crying, but she looks as gorgeous as ever. How does this girl not have boys chasing her around the school. I snap out the haze when she yells at me "what the hell!" I open my mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. All the sound around me tunes out as I stare at her lips. I feel the urge to lean in and kiss her. I take a step towards her, and our bodies are yet again so close.
She waves her hands around in front of my face and I snap out of the haze "Matao? You there?"
"What? Yes, sorry" I reply quickly. I can see her face turning red with anger but all I want to do right now is kiss her till her breath is gone.
"Are you crazy what are you do- "she yells "are you ok?" The change in the tone of her voice surprises me I expected her to continue scolding me another five minutes before going back to class.
