Khaotung stretched and groaned as he woke up, feeling the soft rays of the morning sun filter through the curtains. He glanced over at Mark, who was still wrapped snugly in his blankets, his chest rising and falling with each deep breath. Khaotung quietly reached for his phone on the nightstand and saw a flurry of missed notifications. He tapped out a quick message to Mark:

*"Hey, I'm heading to university to submit an assignment. Will be back by early afternoon. See you later!"*

After sending the text, Khaotung slipped out of bed and quietly dressed in casual, comfortable clothes. He was just about to head out when he spotted First standing in the living room, engaged in a phone conversation. First was impeccably dressed in a tailored suit, his dark hair slicked back, his expression serious.

Khaotung paused at the threshold of the hallway, feeling the tension in the room. As soon as First noticed him, he ended his call abruptly, his sharp gaze focusing on Khaotung.

"Where are you going?" First's voice was commanding, his tone leaving little room for negotiation.

"I have to go to the university to submit my assignment," Khaotung replied, trying to sound casual as he approached the door.

First's eyes narrowed slightly as he considered Khaotung's response. "Pond will take you," he said, reaching for his phone to call Pond.

"No, I can go by myself," Khaotung insisted, stepping closer to First.

"It's going to take long. Go with Pond and he will bring you back," First said, his voice firm.

Khaotung frowned, his eyes widening in a pleading manner. "Actually, I have to meet my friend. It's been a long time since I met him," he said, hoping to make his case.

First's gaze softened slightly, but he remained stern. "Did you forget that you work for me now and I will be the one telling you when to go or not?" His husky voice carried an authoritative edge.

Khaotung's expression shifted to a more earnest, pleading look. He tilted his head and puffed out his lower lip, giving First his best puppy eyes. "Please, I'll come back early and do all the work," he added, his voice taking on a softer, more beseeching tone.

First's initial irritation began to waver as he observed Khaotung's earnest attempt. The sight of the boy's hopeful eyes and pouty lips struck a chord within him. A smile tugged at the corners of First's mouth despite his effort to remain stern. "Okay, but you have until 7 pm," he relented.

Khaotung's face lit up with a wide grin as he bounced on the balls of his feet. "Yes, thank you!" He rushed over to First, wrapping him in a quick hug before dashing toward the door.

First watched as Khaotung hurriedly exited the building, his smile slowly fading as he returned to his earlier thoughts. He was puzzled by the sudden warmth he felt towards Khaotung, the boy who was a constant source of irritation and disobedience. First couldn't reconcile the growing softness he felt with his usual approach to dealing with those who crossed him. The contrast between his usual ruthless demeanor and the unexpected fondness for Khaotung was unsettling.

Khaotung, meanwhile, hopped out of the car as it pulled up to the university. He gave Pond a grateful wave before heading towards the bustling campus. He moved quickly through the hallways, dodging groups of students and navigating his way to the teacher's office.
