Third Person P.O.V

As the clan member's voices fade away, Jesper sighs heavily. (Y/N) offers a small smile to him, making him force one back before he faces Klaus.

"Klaus... I don't know what to say," Jesper apologetically starts with a sigh, rubbing his neck. "If I hadn't...

He takes a step forward, wood crunching beneath his foot as (Y/N) looks down at the present.

However, it was no present. It was a wrapped up log.

"What...?" (Y/N) breathes out in confusion, Jesper picking it up.

"What's this?"

Klaus chuckles, looking back with a smirk as he pulls the decoy sleigh back up from the cliff.

The two turn around, the reindeer pulling the real sleigh full of the unharmed toys. Alva chuckles with a wave, Márgu's father leaning back with a smile.

"The presents in the sleigh were all fake?!" Jesper demands, blinking rapidly.

"Give me a little credit," Klaus muses, grunting as he pulls the sleigh up. "I wasn't going to let them have the toys."

"But-- wait," (Y/N) holds her head in confusion, Alva laughing again as she jumps down from the sleigh.

"I was going to tell you our plan, but you up and disappeared!" Alva explains, shaking her head with a smile at (Y/N). "Kids talk a lot. You weren't there when they happened to be talking about their parents plotting to form an angry mob."

(Y/N) breathlessly laughs, smacking her forehead as Alva walks over.

"It was a simple plan," Klaus continues, turning to the two. "They would destroy the decoys and leave."

"But then you two showed up," Alva takes the log from Jesper before ruffling (Y/N)'s hair. "And made it complicated. Very nice."

"Sorry," (Y/N) sheepishly laughs, rubbing her neck as Jesper blinks rapidly.

"So... All this was for nothing?"

Klaus hums for a moment, reaching in the sleigh and retrieving Jesper's hat. "Oh, I wouldn't say that."

He dusts the hat off before offering it to Jesper with a kind smile, Jesper slowly taking it as (Y/N) hugs his arm.

"Shall we, then?"

Jesper looks down at (Y/N), who grins with a nod. He looks back to Alva and Márgu's father, who also do the same in approval.

He smiles, and sets his hat on his head.

...

The reindeer run through the night, Klaus lightly cracking the reins as (Y/N) leans on Jesper's shoulder, making him smile widely as they approach Smeerensburg.

...

The next day...

The sun rose over the hills, a golden glow shimmering on the pale snow.

Two boys and a girl rush down stairs, gasping in delight at the sight of presents waiting for them.

"He came! He came!"

They all laugh, rushing to the gifts and tearing into them.

"Yeah!"

"Mine's the big one!"
