It's a shame that he's such a prick.

Liliana's P.O.V.
Jasmine and I were making the rounds, making sure we had greeted all of our friends.
"Hey, babe." A guy whispered in my ear.
"Hunter." I stated. "How did you find me?"
"It wasn't too hard. We have our ways." He said, his crew behind him cracking up.
Jasmine popped up, followed by her old friend, Greg. He's like a brother to her and had assumed a protective stance as he looked Hunter up and down. "Who are you?" she asked.
"I'm Hunter." He introduced himself, raking a hand through his jet-black hair and sending her a flirty grin. I could kill him.
"You're Liliana's ex-boyfriend?" she asked, taken aback by his age. There were a good four years between us. "You little prick. Who the hell do you think you are showing up here?" she spat out. Greg and I gasped at her foul language.
"Jasmine!" I shrieked.
"Well, his presence has royally pissed me off." She shrugged.
"Thank fuck! I couldn't take it any longer!" I gasped in relief.
"Lilli!" she screeched.
"I believe there are more pressing matters at hand." I said, diverting the attention from myself.
"Fine." she grunted. "Where's Paul? Paul?!"
"What's wrong?" he puffed, out of breath from sprinting over to us.
"Oh, that was fast!" she smiled. "Could you please escort these party-crashers out?"
"Right, boys, let's go." He said, signalling to Hunter and his friends. Jasmine turned to me once they were out of sight.
"It's a shame that he's such a prick." She told me.
"Why's that?" I asked.
"Because he was hot." She said laughing.

The sun had set, and Jasmine and I were sitting around the campfire with the girls from our school, who we hadn't thought we'd see again, since we all had such different plans for university. I saw Jasmine glare, and I followed her fixed glare all the way to Hunter and his crew, who obviously had managed to sneak back into the party. At that moment, Jasmine sprung up from her seat, and stomped over to them. She looked as though she were ready to throw a punch or two. I quickly scurried after her, grabbing her arm to hold her back.
"Stop it!" she whined, trying to resist my grip on her. "I don't want them here!"
"I invited them." I sighed.
"You what?!" she screeched.
"She did." Jess, Hunter's best friend, added.
"Please, don't hate them." I told her. "They aren't that bad."
"He took advantage of you! You were 15!" she countered. "And they're in a gang!"
"Jasmine, I knew what I was doing, Hunter didn't take advantage of me once. You know I am more than capable of handling myself." I argued. "Give them a chance."
"Well... I..." she stuttered. "Fine."
The gang cheered. "Now, where's the booze?" Nate asked.
"In the cooler, by the fire." She sighed in defeat. I realised that we had attracted quite a crowd during our theatrics, so I dragged Jasmine off to a more isolated area. "I can't believe you invited them back."
"I didn't have a choice." I sighed. "They had a proposition."
"Meaning?" she asked.
"He wants us to join the gang." I told her.
"What do you mean, join the gang?!" Jasmine ground out.
"Okay, so I never told you this before because I never thought I'd have to..." I explained. "But when I started dating Hunter, I kind of joined his gang."
"What are you even saying?! How can you have been in a gang? You were 15!" Jasmine ranted.
"Well, think about it." I replied. "When did we take up gymnastics and the defensive arts?"
"Two years ago, when-" Jasmine pondered out loud. "When you started dating Hunter."
"Anyways, when I dumped Hunter, I wanted to leave the gang too. But when you join a gang, you're tied to them forever." I continued. "However, Hunter has told me that if you and I help recruit a number of new members, he is willing to let me leave for good."
"Lilli, I can't be in a gang." She mumbled. "Why us?"
"There aren't any girls in the gang." I told her. "They just want us to charm and train some new recruits. No strings attached."
"Lilli-" Jasmine began.
"Please, Jasmine?" I begged her. "I'm so sorry to have to put you in this position, but I don't really have another choice! This is the only way I can get out. But you can't tell anyone."
"Lilli, we can't not tell the boys, we're living with them! They'll notice if we're gone." She told me.
"But-" I argued.
"No." she interrupted me. "If we're going to do this, we're going to do it my way."
"Wait, so you'll do it?" I asked her.
"I'm in." she said.
