Falling in love after heartbreak

New day, new beginnings!

Luiza woke up from a good nights sleep despite crying herself to sleep the night before. The sun beamed into her bedroom making her groan, she mumbled something incoherent, got up and started to get dressed and get ready for her day, she looked in the mirror, took a deep breath, smiled and left the room to go downstairs. She sat there in silence eating her breakfast. She finished, put her bowl in the sink and walked out the door to catch the bus.
30 minutes later she arrives at college, taking another deep breath before heading inside, she was walking inside when she saw Valentina walking up to her, "This is all I need" she mumbles to herself before Valentina gets to her, "Hi Luiza" Valentina says, smiling at her, "Hi Valentina, what can I do for you", Valentina just stares at her for what seemed like an eternity. "Valentina"? Valentina comes out of her gaze, "Sorry, I was just admiring the way you look when you're angry". "How do you know I'm angry?" Luiza says. "You have that look on your face, anyway I just wanted to ask you if you wanted to be partners for our project today?" Luiza contemplated the decision for a second, wondering what Valentina's angle was but she agreed. "Sure, I guess it can't hurt", and with that they both walked to class.

Luiza didn't know what angle Valentina was trying to play but at the moment she didn't have the energy to fight with her, Valentina had been nothing but annoying to Luiza and now all of a sudden she's changed her attitude. Luiza sat in class working on her project with Valentina which involved learning about the different aspects of law, they spent their time speaking about the subject giving each other their opinions until class was over. Luiza packed up her books and went to leave before Valentina turned to her, she looked at Luiza and smiled, giving her a little smirk, "What are you looking at". Luiza asked, "You" is all Valentina said, then continued "Luiza I know we haven't exactly been friendly with each other", Luiza scoffed "Don't you mean you haven't been friendly", Valentina laughed but continued anyway, "but I'm hoping we can start off fresh and be friends, I want to be able to civil and do things with our friends together". Luiza thought about this for what seemed like a lifetime to Valentina, but Luiza finally spoke up and agreed to be friends and be civil. Luiza needed friends in her life especially in this moment due to her current situation, she needed people around so she didn't think about the heartbreak she's currently going through, even though Valentina doesn't know she's gratefully they've called in truce.

Valentina was laying on her bed when she hears a knock on her door, "Come in", a moment later Igor walks in, "Did you hear about Luiza he said", Valentina looked at him, "No, what happened", she has a worried look on her face, "Her girlfriend cheated on her, they broke up yesterday". Valentina sat up, looking at Igor, she couldn't believe what he just said, "She what?, I'm going to kill that bitch", she said before getting up off the bed, but Igor stops her, "There's no point in doing anything you'll regret, Luiza is dealing with it, she just needs her friends around her, people she cares about and who care about her, I know you like Luiza and not just the friend way, and maybe one day you could be with her, but just be there for her and show her you care". Valentina stared at me, "You know I have feelings for her"?. "It's not like you disguise it very well sis". He laughs but they both agree that Luiza needs her friends around her.

Valentina rolls up to college on her motorbike, parking it up and getting off, she takes off her helmet and starts walking towards the entrance, just as she gets to the door and opens it, she smashes into someone and books go flying, "I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking, are you okay" Valentina doesn't say anything realising it's Luiza, "Oh Valentina, sorry are you okay?" "I'm fine don't stress, are you okay"? Valentina says seeing the stained tears on Luiza's face. "I'm fine" she says as she goes to walk away but Valentina's hand grabbing hers stops her in her tracks. "You don't look okay, you can talk to me Luiza". Luiza is stunned normally Valentina wasn't this nice but I guess she meant what she said about starting over. Valentina pretended like she didn't know about luzia's current situation. Luiza looks at Valentina, not wanting her to know but needing someone to talk to. "My girlfriend and I broke up because I found her cheating on me with someone else" she said as the tears started flowing down her face. Valentina's heart broke seeing Luiza like this, she grabbed her and pulled her in to hug her, "I'm so sorry Luiza, you didn't deserve that, I'm here, you can talk to me".

They sat down at one of the tables outside, Luiza sat there for a minute trying to compose herself while Valentina softly rubbed her back to help calm her down, Luiza eventually spoke, "Why did I do wrong?" She said through tears, Valentina's heart broke at the words, "You didn't do anything wrong, she's the idiot for not seeing what a beautiful, kind, caring person you are, she doesn't deserve you, you deserve someone who sees how amazing you are, someone who treats you with respect and who shows you what you truly deserves and how you should be treated". Luiza looked at Valentina seeing the truth in her eyes, "I just wish I could stop finding douchebags and find someone actually worth putting my time into". Valentina just looks at her, wishing she knew how she felt about her, but she knew it wasn't the right time.
They sat there for a while longer talking and eventually having a laugh together, they got up and went about their day.

Luiza sat next to Valentina in class, she didn't realise she was staring until Valentina asked if she was okay, Luiza came out of her own little world she was in, "Yeah I'm okay". She turned back to listen to the professor, she thought to herself, "Where did that come from, I just stared at her, looking at her soft, silky hair, her green eyes, wondering where the Valentina she saw today has been. She wondered what this feeling was that she had in her chest.
The class ended and she got up to leave, but stopped, turned back, walking towards Valentina.
"Hey", she paused for a second while Valentina was looking at her waiting for Luiza, "Sorry, I was just wondering if you might want to come around and do some study for the project", Luiza said. Valentina stared at her, not believing what she was just asked but didn't hesitate, "Of course, I would like that very much", she said smiling. They both agree to meet at luiza's in an hour. They both walked off smiling, not knowing what this was they both wanted to find out.
