Can I get your number?

I panted frantically after I ran about 3 levels of the staircase. I didn't wait for the lift since it was still pretty slow from the highest level 16. This college was new, but the movement for the lift seemed rusty even though it looked like a brand new one.

Whatever.

It was the first day of my freshman year of college. I was tardy for about 5 minutes. I knew it wouldn't get silly detention whatsoever, but I didn't like the idea I might put on the spot. Since I might miss self introduce. I assumed the lecturer might want me to do that.

Should I ditch the class instead? Nevermind. It wouldn't be too bad, right? Also, I never wanted to miss the first day of college of my life!

Fine. I shrugged and gently knocked on the door.

"Look! I guess we still have a new comer for today!" I couldn't see the lecturer's face, but I assumed his voice was old enough as my parents. Besides, his vibe is exactly typical of a friendly adult saying hello to the kids.

"Good morning, sir!" I greeted straight once I opened the door and bowed at the man. He had thin gray hair and a pair of thin silver-frame glasses and looked at me as if it wasn't a big deal that I was late. "Don't sweat it. We didn't start the class yet. Why don't you get a seat as you like?"

I felt the sweat from my temples dripping down my jawline as I swiftly used the hem of my long-sleeved flannel shirt to wipe it. I scanned around the room and there were only three girls in the front row. They all could be differentiated by the color of their hair. They were black, brown, and blonde. Black hair was with glasses busy flipping her books, the brown hair subtly laughed at me while the blonde was the most striking among them. She was chewing something that I assumed was chewing gum and she shot a smile at me. I waved in return and decided to take a seat behind two rows from them.

That probably would be me when I first time met the people. It ain't a crime to have a space since the room had another 47 seats available.

Two hours passed, and eventually, the room had about 20 students. I was surprised most of them arrived about 10 minutes before the class ended. The lecturer seemed to never care and he didn't intend to recap what the latecomer might miss.

I was shocked when the classroom was almost empty but only left the blonde, brunette, and dark-haired girl.

The blonde seemed typing something as she was holding her phone and casually waved at the girls and her blue eyes were looking in my direction. I looked at her in return because she seemed to be looking for me. Her mouth has been chewing since I saw her in the class. Hell, she was fucking attractive chewing the gum with one side.

She was wearing a plain white t-shirt, the hem of her shirt right above her belly button showing off a nice navel ring. A pair of tight ripped black jeans and a pair of sneakers.

"Hi, I'm Paige. Would you mind if I got your number? Just in case we could keep in touch." the blonde asked nicely with a smile.

"How come I never think of that? I mean, that's a nice way to get a pretty girl's number like that," I quipped.

"You're not wrong with that," Paige smirked. "You shall have a nice treat for my little tips in return."

"Coffee on me?" I replied mirroring her cute smirk.

"That's lovely," Paige tilted her head a little. "Okay, I'll text you in a bit if you allow me to do so?"

I typed my number on my phone and showed her. She looked at the number as the corner of her lips curled deeper. "Thank you, Melissa."

I took a large gulp when I heard her voice was Husky when she said my name. She winked at me and she turned and left the classroom. After about a minute she left, and my phone was vibrating in my hand. I  immediately checked the unknown number and I opened and read.

'Do you know The Newtons? It is a cafe across the college. If you knew we will meet there at 12 pm. I will have a class shortly. Let's keep in touch after that.'

I typed a replied and sent.

Me: 'What a shame I don't have a same class with you. I will go to the library to chill and we will go there together after you finish your class?"

Paige: 'I like it sounds of that. I will meet you at the library after my class ends."

Me: 'That's sweet. I'm glad I didn't ditch the class just now. Otherwise, I would miss a date.'

Paige: I'm glad you made it. Anyway, I see a girl sweating is attractive. Hopefully, I can see that 'a little more' someday ;)

Me: I love get sweat. Let's have a sweat date for our second date. What do you think?

Paige: Good idea. Aside from the joke, do you like yoga?

Me: I'm not fan of yoga, but it's worth I could pair up with you explore more position.

Paige: That's my girl. Practice make progress. Okay, I have to go. See you later, hot stuff.

Me: See ya, sexy.
