The Party-

2 days later...

"Okay, the whole high school will be here In less than an hour." Laura said as she started curling my hair.

"I'm nervous." I said.

"Oh you will be fine!" she tried to make me feel better.

"Is there anyone who you want me to stay away from?" I asked.

"Oh my god. you need to stay away from Emma. if she sees you even looking at Beck, she will rip your head off." She warned.

"Ok what does she look like so I know for sure?" I said. she tapped on her phone and held it out in front so I could see. on the screen I saw the most gorgeous Tumblr girl I have ever seen. She smiled as if she didn't have a care in the world.

"She never looks like this. she always has a dirty look on her face."
Laura explained.

"Oh, that's just lovely." I said.

There was a long pause. She transitioned into applying my makeup.

"So, you and Beck." She said wiggling her on fleek eyebrows.

"He's... my... Boyfriend..." I said pausing in between words.

She stood up straight smiled and jumped up and down squealing like a maniac.

"OH MY GOD! YOU AND BECK! PERFECT! AHHH JUST AHHH!" She squealed.

"Okay okay, calm down." I said.

"I will plan your wedding, and your honey moon, and--"

"Woah woah woah! chill out! we're not getting married! were just testing this out!" I said holding my hands out in front of me.

She pouted and continued applying makeup on my face.

"Jesus Laura! how much food did you buy?" I asked completely astonished at the mass of food in front of me.

"I didn't buy it, I made it." She smiled. I looked down at the table of cupcakes, mini pies, and a giant cake in the middle.

"Are you serious?" I asked.

"Yeah! that's what I did all day yesterday while you were exploring Topsail!" She squealed.

The cupcakes were chocolate Vanilla swirl with light teal, and Sea foam green Icing. the cake was decorated beautifully. Same color icing which happened to be my favorite colors.

"Wow. this is impressive." I commented. she smiled.

"You know this is also your birthday party." she squealed.

"Um no." my smile dropped at the thought that this party was for me.

"What do you mean?" she asked. she looked upset.

"Laura, I only know 2 people here!" I said shaky.

"Maria, it will be fun!" she explained.

I hesitated.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Positive." she said non convincingly.

"Ah well. yolo." I said.

We waited for people to show up.
Laura was carrying coolers filled with who knows what all around the first floor.

"Hey Laura, I'm gonna go on the back porch and get some fresh air." I said.
She nodded and smiled.

I walked out the back door and stepped onto the porch.
I stood at the very end agenst the porch railing. I stared at the sugar sand and at the crystal blue water with the sun setting over it. I sighed. I thought about everything that had happened this week. from the dream to now.
