Y/n's POV
The girl's grip tightened on my arm as she held me back. Her starry eyes boring into mine. And despite her fatigue her grip refused to let me go.
"Y/n, stop!" she yelled.
I tried to pull away, my mind still focused on the impending danger that awaited my friends. "I have to go! They're out there, I need to do something!"
A mangled cough escaped her mouth, but still she held her ground, "You can't . . . Nash-veh zadau du . . . You're what's important, you have to-"
Her legs seemed to grow heavy as she fell to her knees. Black stained blood dripped from her mouth as her hand weakily slipped from my wrist. I looked at her bare arms, and watched as an inky blackness began to line her vines. She looked back up at me pleadingly.
"Epithymeî se . . . You have to stay, you have to face them."
Whatever strength remained in her dissipated as she collapsed onto the grass. Without missing a beat I backed away from the forest's edge as I knelt by her side.
Another strained breath escaped her throat as I looked down at her. Propping her head on my lap as I spoke, "What's happening to you?"
She shook her head lightly, "Vaws-hak . . . I fear it is finally reaching out to me."
I looked at her confused, "What? What's reaching for you?"
The girl barely seemed to hear me, as she continued mumbling to herself.
"Calassbrak a corl . . . why is this happening? . . . peditham hi sui vellyn? . . . I hardly know where here is anymore."
Another spout of blood dripped from her mouth, as she struggled to breathe. I gently moved my hands under her as I picked her up.
"Just take a breather, you need to rest." I advised.
I moved her back over to the sleeping bag as I set her down on the sheets again. I felt a cold breeze blow through the area, as I huddled up closer to the fire. I then looked above me, as I watched that giant mass of shadows reaching closer and closer to those breaks in the sky. More and more crawling out by the minute. I felt like I was abandoning my friends, just leaving them to fight those monsters on their own. But right now this girl needed my help first, and I needed to finally get some answers.
I looked back down at her, worried. Sweat fell from her brow and she kept clenching her fists in pain.
"Mi van me . . . Why is this happening to me?" slowly her eyes turned up towards me almost pleadingly, "Are you real? Or just another voice in my head? Is any of this real?"
I moved a little closer to her as I nodded in support, "I'm real, I'm here." I answered, "And yeah unfortunately this is all pretty real."
She let out another spasm of coughs before speaking again, "She abandoned me didn't she? . . . i mitera mou . . . she isn't coming back."
I looked at her questioningly, trying to keep my voice calm, "Who? Who abandoned you?"
She sighed, "My mother . . . I should've known, I should've believed him. But I thought if I just waited a little longer, she would come back."
I thought back to my last conversation with her. How she had grown panicked, and started mumbling about getting lost after a hike. And then apparently how Shadow Y/n had visited her, up until he had disappeared once Chaos had taken him.
"It was him wasn't it?" I answered, "Shadow Y/n, he told you that she wasn't coming back for you. He tried to get you to leave didn't he?"
She nodded slowly, "I should've believed him . . . Is amadan me."
