2003: The language of the music

Leo, Donnie, Raph, Casey and Master Splinter went to a movie theatre across town, leaving April to look after Mikey. But she finds out something about him she never knew about.

"What?! What do you meen I have to stay here?!" Mikey shouted as his brothers, Casey and Master Splinter were getting ready.

"You have to stay here Mikey. Until Don fixes  your cloaking broach, you are not going anywhere." Leo said.

"Awww come on. I can wear a trench coat like how we used to do it."

"That was when we were under cover. Right  now it's just to risky." Donnie added.

"Aww. Can I come. Please? Please please please please please please please pleeeeeease? Did I mention your my favourite brothers." He bribed.

"Were your only brothers and no. I'll call April to see if she can look after you." Donnie said while taking out his turtle com.

"WHAT?! Call April?! To BABYSIT?! I don't know if you noticed but I am 15 years old!" He protested.

"Yea a 15 year old with the mind of a 9 year old." Raph teased.

"Nice one." Casey said while giving him a fist bump.

"Master Splinter, please." Mikey whimpered.

"I'm afraid that your brothers are right Michelangelo. April will look after you until we get back." Splinter said.

"Great. Now what am I going to do." He said as he folded his arms.

"I dunno. Play your big violin." Raph said as he put on his cloaking broach.

"OK first of all, it's a cello. Second of all, that's a great idea. Thanks Raphie-boy." Mikey said as he threw a hand over his now human brothers shoulder.

"Anytime. And don't call me that."

Donnie came back from his call." April's comming in 15 minutes so we better get a move on. The movie starts in half an hour." He put on his cloaking broach. Leo and Splinter did so as well.

"Later Mikey. See ya." They called out.

"See ya." He called back.

He headed up to his room and set up his cello. He closed his eyes and began to play. He was not sure what he was playing but it sounded great.

April walked along in the sewers and bumped into the guys. They started to chat.

"Hey guys." She said.

"Hi April." They said in unison.

"Thanks for coming at such short notice. We just needed someone to babysit Mikey while we were gone." Donnie said.

"My pleasure. Have fun at the movies."

"Bye" They continued walking to the sewer hole cover and claimed out.

April made her way into the lair and she saw that no one was there. She started to call out.

"Mikey, Mikey. It's April. I'm here. Where are you?"

Just then she heard beautiful music comming from down the halls so she decided to follow. But as she turned the corner, she was in shock to see Mikey. Playing the cello.

She stayed and listened as Mikey had his headphones on playing Runway by AURORA . He was so focused and so concentrated that he didn't even notice April there. When he finished, he looked up to see April standing there. He did a girly scream.

"Sorry, Mikey" She laughed.

"Oh hi April." He said a bit sheepishly.

"I never knew you played an instrument. And you're amazing at it."

"Thanks. I love playing my cello. It just makes me feel all happy and giddy inside." He said while fiddling with his bow.

"Can you play something else for me?" She asked.

"Sure." He said while placing his bow on the strings.

He closed his eyes and felt the music flow through his arms and synchronizer with his cello. He started to play and he sounded amazing. He was inside his mind, seeing the musical notes fly all around him and the magic in his arms was visible from a mile. He kept playing to his heart content until he finished. When he opened his eyes, he say April looking at him in awe and clapped, making the orange terrapin blush a little.

"That's incredible Mikey! You are really talented you know." She said.

"Thanks April."

"You know you should make your own song. I could help." She suggested.

"Yeah. Let's do it." He said excitedly.

The duo spent hours making, improving and perfecting the the song and by the time the guys came back, they were ready.

"I wonder how Mikey and April are doing." Casey said.

"I bet April's probably being tortured by Mikey's antics right now." Raph joked.

"Now Raph. Mikey and April are probably fine. I mean it can't be that bad right?" Donnie asked.

"We'll just have to wait and see." Leo said.

They walked into the lair and saw a piece of paper on the floor. It said 'Go to Mikey's room.' They went to his room to see Mikey and April with a computer and cello.

"Hello brothers, Master Splinter, Casey," be started.

"Today we have an extra special surprise for all of you. The magical Michelangelo and the amazing April O'Neil will be doing a duet to an original song. Paint it Orange. Please take a sweet and enjoy." Mikey said with a smirk.

They all took a seet and the show started. April played an audio that they made and Mikey closed his eyes, entering the Zone. He was in his mind again, watching the  magic in his arms start to glow as he played. Musical notes floated around him and the sky turned a sunset orange. He played and played like there was no tomorrow.

When he was done, he opened his eyes for everyone to have the same reaction as April. They erupted in applause as Mikey stood up and bowed to the crowd. April wrapped her hand around his shoulder as the others surrounded them.

When the commotion die down, Mikey asked a very important question.

"Can April turtle-sit all the time?" He asked.

"I dunno. What do you think April?" Leo asked.

"I'm up for it if you are Mikey." April said.

Mikey smirked and said, "Come back next week for the sequel at 7:30. Thank you and goodnight!"
