"What else do you think he'll need?" Jungkook asked Sarang as they strolled through the supermarket.
"Mittens, earmuffs, hand warmers and maybe toner and sunscreen?" Sarang replied as she scanned the aisles laden with various items.
"Let's go to that side then." Jungkook said as he navigated their cart towards the section that had mittens and hand warmers. However Sarang stopped him and made him turn towards her.
"Yah, lower your hat. It'd be a big trouble if someone recognizes you." Sarang whispered as she adjusted his hat and mask to cover his face better.
"You're one to talk. Maybe you should do a better job at disguising yourself too." Jungkook snorted as he pointed at the way she had covered her face with mask and scarf. Which was coming undone. He successfully diverted Sarang's attention before she saw how red his face had gotten.
'Jeon Jungkook, stop blushing at everything she does and get a grip on yourself. You're in public' He mentally chided himself as he focused back on his track.
"Wait for me Sarang." Jungkook whisper-yelled when he noticed that Sarang had already started walking towards the other section, leaving him alone.
She turned around and shushed him. Her eyes comically widening as she looked around to make sure no one has recognized Jungkook's voice.
As she tried to best to be inconspicuous, Jungkook would swear on everything he owned that his heart just about melted on the spot from the warmth Sarang's cute action ignited in him. How can she be so adorable even when she was angry? Her flushed cheeks begged to be kissed by him.
How can he stop himself from acting on his urges?
How can he stop himself from declaring his love for her?
How can he ever stop himself from wanting to hold her hand freely without the fear of people doing something terrible to them?
But he held it all in. No matter how hard it was for him, he had to keep his emotions in check until the right moment. And that certainly wasn't right now, in this supermart where anyone could walk in on them.
A small nagging voice in the back of his head also whispered about how he was scared of getting rejected. The drive back home would be super awkward, he probably won't be able to look her in the eyes for who knows how long. Hell, their friendship might end up getting messed up cause of his untimely actions.
"- you think Jungkook. Jungkook" Sarang's voice brought him back to reality as he finally noticed that he had zoned off while having an internal debate.
"Uh.. Sorry what were you saying?" He sheepishly asked as he noticed the way she was scanning him from head to toe. His breathe hitched when she placed her palm on his forehead and then on his cheek. "Ya.. Yah what are you doing?"
"Why is your face so red all of a sudden? Are you feeling sick? Do you need me to get you some medicine?" Sarang's worried tone made him smile a bit.
"I'm okay. Don't worry." He quickly assured her.
"But why is your face so flushed then?"
"Uh...it's the cold. Yeah it's cause of cold." He stammered as he tried to find a believable excuse.
She looked at him with skeptical eyes but thankfully decided to drop the questioning for now. Jungkook quickly put his mask back on and looked around to see if anyone had noticed them.
"Do you think Jin oppa will like this?" Sarang asked as she pointed at a blue colored mitten set.
"I hope so." Jungkook laughed as he placed it in the shopping cart.
