TWO FACED

06 - THE NEIGHBOUR

     "are you really stalking me till here?" xaver asked, furrowing his eyebrows as he crosses his arms. "i'm starting to think you're obsessed with me" he added, slightly lowering his body to stare at her face.

     "as if? my question now is what is a killer like you doing here, especially in aunt jessica's house" julliette answered his question with another question. "don't tell me she's your next victim" she blurted out with a concerned face before pushing xaver aside, entering the house as she calls out for jessica before xaver could've said anything else.

     xaver gritted his teeth and went after her before pulling julliette's arm, stopping her from going any further into the house. "what's your problem breaking into people's house?" he asked, his grip on her arm tightening when she tries to resist.

     "my only problem is you being around here" she complained as she keeps on trying to free herself. as they argued, jessica opened the door with johnny who was carrying boxes by her side.

     "what's going on here? xaver, let her arm go" jessica said, xaver who didn't want to argue any further complied to his mom's order and let go.

     julliette ran up to jessica and hugged her, "i thought you would be hurt" she said before turning to xaver and glaring at him.

     jessica who was confused at her statement proceeds to ask why julliette thought so and julliette ranted about how xaver was a dangerous guy and how him being here would endagers her. jessica let out a small laugh at her rants, "you don't have to worry about that, i'm sure my own son wouldn't hurt me" she claimed.

     julliette looked at jessica and then at xaver, "he's your son?" she hesitated to say each word.

     jessica replied with a "yes he is" which made julliette a bit stunned as she wasn't expecting this at all.

     xaver who was now wondering why julliette seemed close to his mom, spoke to johnny who just finished putting down the boxes he was carrying, "who is she?" he asked, he only knew for a fact that she's an investigator who won't stop tailing him after the day she went to meet them in the headquarter.

     "she's the neighbour's daughter, i thought you knew" johnny said while xaver looks at him with a raised eyebrow.

     "i thought the whitlocks lived next door?" he asked. as far as he knows, the last time before they moved to the headquarter, only guys were living next door.

     "she's a whitlock" johnny informed. hearing that, xaver's confusion had only risen since he didn't know the whitlock had a daughter but he then slightly nodded.

     "so no wonder she annoys me on another level, she's the sister of that dumbass" he then glanced at julliette, the resemblance slowly hitting him and he let out a sigh while johnny gave him a pat on the back before going back to continue his works.

     at the same time, jessica called for xaver and he responded with a hum. "can you take julliette out today?" she asked, making the two let out a loud "hah?!" both of them clearly showing signs of disagreement.

     "but we were supposed to go out together" julliette said, looking at jessica with pleading eyes.

     "i'm sorry dear but something came up and i have more works to do so i'm not able to accompany you today. i'm sure xaver will, right honey?" jessica explained as she looks at xaver with a smile.

     xaver who was about to complain, stopped in his tracks upon seeing his mother's smile knowing she'll force him eitherway. he just nodded and looked away in defeat.

     "oh it's miss investigator" a voice came from someone who was walking down the stairs. "did you put a tracker on us?" grayson asked, squinting his eyes like he's suspicious of her which he is.

     "apparently she lives next door" xaver told before guiding gray to the dining table so they can eat breakfast together. xaver then explained everything that had happened just earlier to gray while julliette and jessica talked, julliette in a way is still trying to convince jessica to go instead. after they finished eating, jessica urges xaver to get ready as she tells julliette to wait for him on the couch.

     alex and rhemi who just got home was greeted by gray before they noticed the same investigator who went to their headquarter on the couch of their living room when they made their way to put the groceries in the kitchen. gray who tagged along told them the situation and the three of them ended up gossiping about it as they fill up the cabinets and fridge.

     it took him a while to get ready before going down, approaching the living room where julliette was waiting. he looked around for signs of his brothers which he couldn't find, they probably had gone to the hangout room or in their own rooms is what he assumed. 

     "took you long enough" julliette grumbled, standing up and getting ready to leave.

     "not my fault i had to accompany you on short notice. i'm only doing it for my mom anyways" xaver protested, taking the car keys from the table besides the exit.

     "you're not the only one who is doing it for aunt jessica" julliette went on, getting into the passenger seat after xaver unlocked the car.

     "yeah yeah, whatever" xaver muttered, taking a deep breath before he gets into the car.

     surprisingly, the car ride to their destination was filled with mostly silence and occasional bickering over the little stuffs. the half an hour ride to the mall was like eternity to them, not to add the times they have to walk around together when they reach the mall.
