Soyeon's POV
I still can't believe that the patient just now is Yuqi. I mean she's changed a lot over the years and I barely recognise her anymore. She dyed her hair to a shade of strawberry blonde and she is thinner than the last time we met.
And then there's her assistant. He tried to give me money and say some things about making sure that she has some kind of mental illness or something even though I am sure that her mental health is perfectly fine. He also tried to make me sign some contract of secrecy even though I emphasised that it is my job to make sure that secrets are kept. So I didn't sign the contract. And I may have retaliated a little too harshly but the assistant really deserves it.
I did not keep up with any of the things happening with celebrities so I searched up Yuqi online. Apparently, she debuted the summer we lost contact, the summer I kissed her. So was that what she said she had to do?
She debuted as a singer-songwriter and have quite a lot of songs under her name. She won a few awards with her songs and have amazing collaborations with many famous artists. And during her first world tour, she sang an unreleased song called 'Could it Be' and her in a red dress and guitar made some fans comment that she looked like early Taylor Swift. (Unpopular opinion, no hate and no haters)
I took out my earphones and started listening to some of Yuqi's music.
Could it be magic?
Oh-oh, oh-oh
'Cause it's more than I could imagine
Oh-oh, oh-oh-ohAnd I'm sinking into the feeling
That we could be so much more
I am not who I was before
Could it be magic? Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-ohAnd my world keeps turning, and I can't explain it
All I know for sure is that I'm all yours (Forever)Yuqi's POV
I seriously cannot stand Sam and his stupid talks about how I did this terribly how I could have done that better.
"Stop that. It's something called mind-control. You can be the psychology doctor if you keep on talking like this." I snap back after 30 minutes of him non-stop rambling about everything. He was just about to retaliate but his phone rang so he shot me a warning look. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
He wasn't happy with what the person on the other end was saying. I took out my earphones and connected them to my phone. I flicked through the songs I saw and chose 'Could It Be'. It reminded me of her the most.
It was 4 in the afternoon when I got down from the car and stopped in front of the music studio. I walked in without waiting for Sam and headed straight to the room that I would usually use.
I went in and locked the door behind me. Sitting down at the table, I took a look at the empty track in front of me on the computer screen. I was expected to write a full album by the end of the year. I've only done 5 out of 9 and it's close to the deadline. I picked up the guitar on the sofa and started strumming some chords.
I still couldn't help but to think of her face. She's changed so much since... since the beach. I started humming some words while my hands strummed a quiet, soothing melody. I recorded the guitar track into the computer.
Hours later, I look at what I did in the past 2-3 hours. I managed to finish most of the song. My grumbling stomach made me think better of spending the night in the studio. I unlocked the door and walked to the entrance where Sam was sitting on one the sofas. He was not happy. That made me happy.
"I must say..."
"Straight to the point. Any changes to anything?" I cut him short.
"The psychology doctor, Dr. Jane or something asked if she could change the appointment date to Tuesday 5pm, at your house. For some kind of secrecy thing."
"That you asked her to keep." I got onto the car and waited for the driver to bring me home.
I looked up a delivery app and had a heated debate mentally about whether ramen or cheese pizza was a better choice for dinner. Then had a sudden craving for fries so I ended up ordering Mcdonalds. Sam was probably rambling on about something Mr. Daniel wanted to tell me. I ignored him and practically ran into my apartment building the moment the car stopped. He couldn't come up without my permission.
My food arrived at half past seven and I binged the first few episodes of 'Dickinson' season 1. I took a few blurry photos and send them on Instagram.
So, Soyeon wants to come to my house and keep on with the psychological treatment. I suppose it's mostly because she expected to keep it a secret and going to a patient's house, without the patient showing their face, is enough secrecy, since anyone could live in this building.
I excited for Tuesday. For more reasons than my sleepy brain can decide. Let's hope Sam falls and sprains his ankle and Mr Daniel falls down the stairs tomorrow morning.
