Yuqi's POV

I was dragged out of the venue through the back door by Brenda and led onto a car that could fit my dress. "So?" I asked worriedly, I knew that something was going to happen if we don't say anything soon.

"What did you tell that guy?" She asked, getting straight to the point.

"I lied and told him that she's my assistant." I replied as Brenda typed away furiously on her laptop. "Then that's our cover story. What was she before tonight?" Brenda replied quickly.

"She's the psychiatrist that Mr. Daniel got me." I say. Brenda frowned. "He got you a psychiatrist? And are you sure he hadn't bought her?"

I looked around. I was afraid that Mr. Daniel had small microphones that recorded what we said. "He probably wants me to have some big mental problem or something. The psychiatrist is helping me with Mr. Daniel. She says I don't have any mental problems, it's just because we know each other and she said that Sam tried to bribe her." I whispered in Brenda's ear and quickly explained it to my best.

"I want her contact number." Brenda says as she looks at the open document on her laptop.

"Ask Sam." And she did. Within 5 minutes, she was ringing Soyeon. She had a hushed conversation with Soyeon on the phone. She seemed to reach a mutual understanding with the woman on the other end of the line. She ended the phone call happily.

"You'll just send a Twitter post saying that Sam's fractured his arm, and Soyeon is your new assistant. Wait, never mind, that's too obvious that you're saying about the picture and the news. You'll just post an Insta story, wishing Sam a quick recovery. Soyeon will be at your house punctually tomorrow morning, she'll be taking over Sam's job for the time being. And make sure that you're there for the interview tomorrow." Brenda says, "I'll deal with Mr. Daniel."

Thank God that I have Brenda helping me the whole time. I just know that she'll help. I posted the Insta story and powered off my phone. I would have a bombardment of notifications from Instagram as I was going to get messages from friends, and hearts from followers.

I reached the basement carpark of my apartment only to see reporters swarming the way to the lifts. "There's no way I'm getting up in this mob." I mutter under my breath, Brenda seemed to be thinking the same thing as she opened her phone again. The car drove out of the carpark and started driving aimlessly. Brenda gave the driver a new address and we were driving away.

"You're gonna go to Soyeon's place. She's agreed to let you stay the night. And I will get someone to get your suit for the interview tomorrow brought to the filming location." Brenda informs me. Soyeon's place? My brain froze for a few seconds. I had no idea what I was feeling, it was just super mixed up with a bunch of thoughts floating through my mind at high speeds.

"Silence from you and I'll take that as a yes."

Before I knew it, I was outside the apartment where Soyeon lived at, Brenda knocked on the door twice. Soyeon opened the door after a few seconds wearing a baggy shirt and short pants. "Come on in." She smiled, the same professional smile that I didn't like. "I've laid out a set of pajamas that may fit you on the bed and I'll wait for you to change." She walked out of the apartment and let me inside before closing the door behind me.

Her apartment was quite small, just enough for a queen sized bed, a relatively normal-sized closet, a small bathroom, that had a washing machine, and a small kitchen. I honestly don't know how she's lived in such a small space.

I struggled with the zipper at my back, and managed, with a lot of difficulty, to unzip the zipper and shimmy out of the big dress. I laid out the dress on the bed before changing into the set of pajamas that Soyeon laid out for me. It was really soft and comfortable, like it's been worn dozens of times.

I opened the door and Brenda walked in to pick up my dress. She gave Soyeon a small smile before leaving the apartment.

"Sorry for causing so much trouble." I mumbled sheepishly.

"It's fine. I shouldn't have gone without telling you. I forgot that you might have other plans when I went to your house. You can sleep on the left side of the bed, I'll sleep on the right." She says, pointing at the bed. She picked up her laptop and went to the kitchen. There was a spare cup, toothbrush and towel in the bathroom. I sat down on the bed. I took out my phone and powered it on. I turned on the 'do not disturb' focus and started a round of games.

It was nearly 10 when I put down my phone. It was on it's last 20% of battery. I looked around for the charger that was for iphone. I didn't find it. I saw the kitchen light lit, Soyeon looked like she was really tired and frustrated.

I powered off my phone and just went to sleep, turning off the lights. I had no idea what to feel. I shouldn't have dragged Soyeon into this deep puddle. I shouldn't have agreed when she wanted to help me figure out whatever Mr. Daniel was up to. I have 1 more year in the contract. And if I were to stop the contract now, I would have to pay 500 million dollars.

As the days pass by, I was feeling more and more sure that I want to have my own studio, my own management team. I sit up straight in bed. I had a feeling for a song. "Hey sorry to disturb you, do you have paper and a pencil?" I asked Soyeon. She looked up at me, probably surprised that I suddenly started talking to her.

She nodded and went to her table beside her bed. After a little bit of rummaging, she got me some bits of scrap paper and a pencil. "Thanks." I took the paper and sat back down on the bed.

I see us walking to a crossroad,
I feel us thinking different things,
I know you want to keep on going,
But I am not following
