On the first day without Tom beside me, we called each other the entire day, even when I took a nap in the afternoon after doing my review

he would be on the call with me. Listening to my soft breathe and when I woke up, he a asleep for the night

Our time is different and that makes everything difficult. I've been focusing on my upcoming exam

and Tom is focusing on his practice with Bill and their band member since they have an upcoming concert in Germany. I wish I was there to watch their performance, but I can't take any more leave from school

Days have passed and I realized I hadn't called Tom today

I groaned when I looked everywhere for the missing piece of my note that I just put on my table and when I looked back, it disappeared

Then I jumped when hearing the telephone ring. I sighed and headed over to pick it up

" Hello? " I asked

" Hello, my pretty girl," Tom says tiredly in the other line.

My shoulder relaxed when hearing it was him, I couldn't help but not to smile as I sat on my bed

" I thought you were asleep? " I asked and I heard him let out a small chuckle, small ruffling sounds in the background

" yeah, I will be. Just want to check on you, hear you're voice before I go to sleep " He explains. I bite my lip as my cheeks turn red

I open my mouth to speak until suddenly, I hear his door open and a girl speak in the background. I furrowed my eyebrow as she spoke in German

" who's that? " I asked and Tom didn't reply for a moment before turning back to me

" uh- I'll call you back tomorrow. I love you! " he says

" wait, Tom! " but it was too late when the line ended.

I look at my telephone and feel my jealousy and worry rising, I take a deep breath. I told myself that I shouldn't overthink and trust Tom, probably it's just his cousin.

I put back my telephone and start packing my stuff inside my bag

" Addie! We have to go " Kate shouts downstairs. I left my room and shut the door, I ran downstairs and met up with Kate as we left the house and called a taxi

Arriving at school, it was a normal day. Some students are stressed about our upcoming finals, and some of them just don't care about it.

"I and Gustav called this morning before we left " Kate begins

as I look at her and she's looking at the small mirror she's holding in her hand while we continue walking, I roll my eyes at her and she notices it

" what's wrong? " she asked and I took a deep breath

"It just, I heard a girl's voice on the telephone when I was talking to Tom, and suddenly he just left," I said and Kate looked at me before laughing. I look at her and furrowed my eyebrow in confusion

" Addie, he put that giant diamond stone in your finger and promised you things. You can't just doubt him " She says and I let out a sigh, she's right

" I don't like it when you're always right " I murmured and walked past her as Kate continued laughing at me

Hours have passed and I skipped lunch and decided to head to the library for a while.

I walk through the shelves to search for the book I need for my upcoming class, I pull out a book and flip the page. I began walking further but suddenly bumped into someone

Some of the books fell into the ground and immediately leaned down to pick up some. My eyes slowly trailed to the arm of a man

" I'm sorry, I-i wasn't looking " I apologized and stood.

I look up and my breath hitched when seeing the tall guy in front of me smile. I have not seen him before here in our school

He has curly brown hair that matches his brown eyes, light tan skin, and perfect pearly white teeth. But he wasn't as tall as Tom

" it's alright. Im Derek, nice to meet you. Adeline, right? " he introduced

and took out his hand in front of me. I was kinda of surprised that he knew my name, probably he is a student here

" yeah, I'm Adeline but you can just call me Addie. You're a student here? " I asked and Derek let out a chuckle while nodding his head

" I am. Just started a year ago, I-I know you because I've always seen you around the school, but I'm too nervous to walk up on you " Derek explained and looked down, scratching the back of his neck as I noticed that his cheeks turned pink.

I can't help but not to blush too as I noticed that I was still holding some of his books. I handed them back and smiled

" wait! Before you go, c-can I get your number? " He asks shyly.

I thought about it for a few seconds before nodding my head, the smile on his face widened as he slipped out his phone from his pocket and handed it to me

I typed my number down and added it to his contacts

" There, feel free to message me anytime," I said. Derek looked at it and blushed

" thank you, I mean. I-i haven't thought you'd give me your phone number, but still, thank you! " He continues

Eventually, our moment was cut off when we heard the bell ring. I said goodbye to Derek and left the library, I messaged Kate for a while and headed to my next class.

While the teacher wasn't here yet, I looked at my phone and frowned when I saw that Tom hadn't messaged me anything for a while, which was unlikely for him.

Every night before he goes to bed, he'll make sure he leaves me a small sweet message. But today, I received nothing

I didn't mind it for a while, probably just tired from their practice
