"how the hell are you ranked number twelve?" you glanced up mid bite to see an annoyed rin. his eye was twitching as he eyed you, his gaze traveling to your food next to your mouth before going back to your face, a slight flush to his cheeks.

karasu coughed awkwardly from beside you, looking just as confused as you were. "number twelve..?" your question seemed to piss off rin even more as he groaned.

"yes, number twelve." he glared. "do i have to spell it out for you? are you really that stupid?" rin wasted no time in getting you worked up, your lips twitching downward in a slight frown. "and my ranking matters so much to you because..?"

you awaited his answer with an annoyed look, watching as he wasn't backing down before sighing. "it doesn't even matter. it was only cause i messed up that one shot-" you took a second to toss a small strawberry in your mouth. "i'm gonna get my rank back up anyway so.. it shouldn't matter right now"

"just leave her alone, man" karasu sneered from beside you, grabbing a berry from your tray and tossing it in his mouth but making sure to light
graze his hand against yours. "what's the point in getting all worked up about something like this anyway? it's not like it's yer own ranking"

"don't talk to me, crow. you're ranked at ten"

karasu laughed loudly. "and that matters to you how? look, all i'm saying is that yer treating her like she's under yer control.. it's weird as hell, man"

while listening to them go back and forth, you watched rin's face as karasu spoke and karasu's as rin spoke. it was clear to see who the more bothered one was..

"do you think you own her?" finally, karasu asked simply. it was something that had been on his mind for a while now. rin was always obsessed with your ranking while in blue lock. as if it directly reflected rin's own rank, which wouldn't make sense unless rin thought he had some kind of sick ownership over you, some kind of control.

glaring at karasu, rin scoffed with an annoyed scowl. "what?"

"i'm serious. do you think you own her? do you think you own y/n?" karasu squinted while looking at rin, the both of you watching as rin just glared. "i don't."

with that simple response, rin walked away and karasu immediately broke out into loud laughter. a part of you felt bad but then again, rin was being weird and karasu basically told him off for your sake.

"you alright, babe?" you felt a gentle tap on your cheek and turned to look at karasu. "seem a bit shaken there. i can yell at him some more if ya want me to"

you gently shook your head, glancing at the exit rin just walked out of. "no.. i gotta pee.." you said quickly and got up to follow where rin was.

finding him was difficult. you had checked all of his favorite places just to find everywhere without rin. as you were about to give up, you passed by one of the locker rooms, the window on the door showing rin as he sat on the bench.

slowly, you walked into the room, almost glad to see that he wasn't naked or anything.

"i could've been naked" rin immediately spat with a mean glare. he was hunched over with his elbows on his knees and his hair in his eyes. it was almost laughable how awful his posture was. "well you kinda aren't, so.."

as if taking that as a challenge, rin grasped the bottom of his shirt and slightly pulled upwards to expose a small part of his waist.

before he could show off more, you were already pulling his shirt back down, your breathing heavy as your hand now rested against his covered abs. you weren't even aware of the position you were in until you looked up, meeting rin's direct gaze and the both of you feeling the shaky breaths you both let out.

"you have a birthmark on your lip" rin spoke suddenly, making your cheeks burn. finally pulling back, you slightly looked at rin with your body facing the exit of the room, contemplating running away and forgetting this ever happened.

with one last shaky breath, you fully looked at rin before moving to sit down beside him. your hand rested on the bench, which rin noticed, and did the same. now, yours and his hands were almost touching, making both of your faces burn in timidness. "you're crazy.." you finally breathed out a laugh, glancing at rin with a slight smile. "please don't ever do that to me again"

rin gazed down at you, watching as you nervously tapped your foot. he didn't know why you were so nervous. "you told me to.."

"i didn't, actually. i don't think i'd ever tell you to get undressed" a laugh slipped passed your lips before you pressed them together, letting out another airy laugh. "i'd probably have a heart attack.."

confusion was written all over rin's face. 'from what?' he wanted to ask, his eyebrows furrowed, but he continued to gaze down at you, studying the way your face and breathing slowly began to relax.

"do you still like him?"

your eyes met rin's, your cheeks heating up but not backing down from his hardened gaze. "who..?"

to rin, that implied that there was more than just one person that you had liked. he quickly looked away, a flash of hurt in his eyes that he hoped you didn't see. "my brother.. do you still like him?"

"i forgot about that.." you laughed softly, staring ahead like rin was. "honestly, i wasn't even that enthralled to see him during the u-20 match"

"how come?" rin's eyebrows furrowed, looking down at his hands that he pressed together. for some reason, he was afraid of what you'd say. he didn't want you to say it was because of anyone but him, though that was seemingly unlikely.

you shrugged, tipping your head back with a small sigh. "preoccupied? i don't know.. the match was stressful and i was honestly fixated on you.."

it took you a few seconds to realize what you had said but by then, rin's face had reddened and he shyly covered his face with the back of his hand.

"that's not what i.." your sigh turned into a groan, wanting to disappear from his sight and beg ego on your hands and knees to let you join another team. "i meant that ego threw me into the match to ease your nerves.. apparently we had some kind of connection and you trusted me but honestly that seemed like a bunch of bullshit. i mean.. you don't need anyone.. you're fine on you-"

your rambling was beginning to piss rin off, making him cover your mouth with his hand, an annoyed and embarrassed look on his face. "stop fucking talking"

he watched you nod, gently gripping his wrist with your hand. rin's gaze was fixated on your eyes, the way your pupils dilated and your eyelashes fluttered as you looked at him. your quick breaths were a distraction to him, as well as your thumb lightly moving back and forth against his skin. this was probably the most contact he had ever had with you and it was driving him nearly insane.

"why do you talk to much.. i hate it when you fucking talk.." rin sighed, letting his hand fall from your face and back on the bench. "my life would be so much easier if you didn't talk as much as you did" he spoke, not even aware of how offensive his words were to you. he had never liked a girl after all. you were basically a foreign language to him that he so desperately tried to learn.

you scoffed, standing up and glaring at rin. "and there you go again, ruining everything" your words sharp and tone even sharper.

with a confused gaze, rin looked up at you. it was clear to rin that you were upset, though he didn't know about what. "why're you so pissed off..?"

"fuck you" you glared and turned around to leave. "and fix your god damn posture, asshole" and with that, you stomped out of the room, leaving rin completely dumbfounded.
