"If you wear a mask, it will only fool other people for so long. Pretending to be someone youre not, you are only fooling yourself."
◇Vers
Good news, those metal contraptions that had covered her hands and hindered her power? Gone.
Bad news... well, as she'd gotten rid of them she'd also managed to create growing cracks in the room- a room in space. The skrulls that had just run in were now cowering and backing away as Vers stared down at them. She looked back over her shoulder and the cracks disappeared, taking half the wall with them.
A huge hole appeared, the air sucking everyone out. Vers grabbed onto a railing, activating her suits mask to keep breathing.
The metal she clutched onto was starting to bend and it wouldn't last much longer. Another rail was right in front of it and the blonde grabbed that as her current pole broke. Unfortunately the second was nearing the first ones fate.Looking at her fist which was now glowing, Vers decided to give something new a shot. She used her energy blast go shoot herself forward and out of the room with a vortex hole in it.
A dull ache shot through Vers's body as she crashed into the floor. Sparing no time she was off once more, bare feet across the flooring as she passed another room-
Her shoes.Backtracking quickly, Vers entered and saw two skrulls. She walked up to them, watching as they backed away with their hands raised. She merely stopped, picking up her boots and exiting, pausing once more when she saw the screens replaying her 'memories'. She blasted it to pieces and left.
Her mind acted on autopilot. She needed off this ship but another worry was still nagging at her brain. Naye had been with her when the ambush had happened. Had the Skrulls taken her too?
If they had then where was she? They could've been messing with her head too. And in the nicest way possible, Vers didn't think Naye's not-so-happy pill powers would help her get out of this mess. But Talos hadn't said anything... so maybe she wasn't here?
This day was really starting to suck. There was a room full of aerial pods and Vers watched as Skrulls ran into each one. She saw her opportunity and followed the last one in, throwing him out soon after and hijacking his exit.
She got to work as she fiddled with the flight panel, fingers flying over the right buttons and options.
A purple blast shot the desktop, startling her."Leaving so soon?" Talos asked.
She was really starting to dislike those purple skrull weapons. Turning to glare at the green bastard, she blasted photon energy, causing him to duck.
He looked to the side then up at her, shouting, "Wait-"
She didn't, about to close the aircraft doors another voice rang out.
"Vers!"Feeling a calmness enter her that overrode her own panic and time urgency, Vers found herself pausing. Seconds later another body careened into her pod- a machine built for one.
"Naye," She recognized. "You're here too-""Go!"
"Right." Doors closing, their pod shot off.
"You know this wasn't made for two people.""We'll survive," The woman replied.
"How did-" The panel started smoking and crackling from Talos's blast. She strained to control it.
The pod was burning up and breaking apart right under and around them.
