"Good morning, grade seven!" Ma'am Marielle greets with a wide smile on her face. "Good morning, ma'am Marielle!" We stand up and greet her and sit right back down.
"So, us teachers now have your exams and exam scores." Ma'am states and the room started buzzing with noises. "Shhhh." Ma'am shushes us.
"It is the start of the second quarter, and I thought that maybe we can switch all your seating arrangements every quarter." Ma'am Marielle says and the boys start cheering in excitement.
"Okay, so everyone stand up and get your things." Ma'am Marielle commands and we comply, getting our backpacks, extra bags for notebooks and our portfolios stored under our chair.
"Boyscout participants, please compress the chairs. Three rows horizontally then 7 chairs each." Ma'am instructs. "Ma'am wala nang hati? [Ma'am it won't be split in the middle?]" Ben asks. "Yes, so I can see all of you easily and everything you're doing during class." Ma'am Marielle says and the boys get the work.
I flinch at the scratching sounds of some of the chairs that had metal parts on the floor. "Perfect!" Ma'am clasps her hands happily.
"Now, I have a seating arrangement list here." Ma'am lets out a piece of paper. "I will arrange you based on what I've observed. Siyempre [of course] I will be putting in front the boys at the back." Ma'am grins. "Ahh!" We all laugh at the thought, teasing the boys who sit at the back who're usually chatterboxes.
The front row was all boys, the boys that used to be at the back to be specific.
Second row was also mostly boys, except Patricia being in the middle, Tristan next to her right, Daniel next to Tristan, and Ace on the last seat to the right.
Last row was most of us girls. From left to right were Maria, James, Inah, Me...
"Yey!" We shriek quietly as Laine got seated beside me
...Wayde gets seated beside Laine and Jeff beside Wayde.
I'm assuming they were really behave during classes so ma'am let them be. Jeff has been avoiding trouble now too. But he still is noisy sometimes.
Laine looks at me, bouncing her eyebrows and nudging at me with her elbow. "What?" I whisper to her, and she replies with a wider teasing smile.
I have been talking to her about him, not as much as she talks about Daniel though.
I nudge her back, "You sad?" I ask with a sarcastic pout and she nudges me harder, rolling her eyes as she holds back her smile.
Too bad Daniel didn't get seated with us, he's pretty cool too. He's kind of a girl's boy or whatever it's called. He'd pretend he's gay whenever he uses a long face towel that he'd wear on his head.
He's a bit taller than most of the other boys. To be fair, the shortest guy which is Zed is at 4'8 ft tall.
"So, are all of you okay with your seats?"
"Yes ma'am!" We exclaim happily, as most of us got seated with our friends.
I mean, there's only 21 of us, it isn't that hard to be chill with everyone.
"Okay, are you ready to see your scores?" Ma'am asks us and we start to shriek and shrill a laugh, either nervously or excitedly.
"Does everyone agree on showing the scores?"
"Yes ma'am!" We exclaim as ma'am nods and gets the test papers, tapping it on the table to fix them. "Who do you think had the highest score?" Ma'am asks.
