Me, Laine, and Jeff decided to sit beside each other at the 2nd row, grouped with the other Wizards with some Troopers sitting in front of us.
The stage was at our right and the judges at the far left. The warm-toned recessed lights of the mall made up for the gloomy and rainy environment outside.
The program was starting, cheers erupted as a video started playing on a big TV beside the stage.
It was big, not big enough for me to see, though.
Laine excitedly whispers into my ear. "It's a video of the candidates. The first clips were close-ups of their eyes." She continues watching, interest and surprise shows up on her face.
"It's like an introduction, them walking or posing around as their names were shown on the screen. Like, you know, those introductions for singing shows on TV. Their costume and makeup was mostly based off of the elements we apparently represent." She says directed to my ears, but not in a whisper tone given how loud the people were.
"Mars, si Wayde oh. [Mars look, it's Wayde.]" Jeff, who was at my left, put a hand on my shoulder as he leaned forward to see the screen better. "Good to know." I try not to crack a smile.
The candidates started going up the stage as Fashionista was playing. The crowd started cheering their candidate's names. "They're wearing the jerseys." Laine narrates. "I see it, kinda." I say as Laine pulls up her phone to record videos.
The row across us had a literal banner for the Aquatics' candidates, and all we had was our team's flag on a tall bamboo stick.
The song Instruction by Jax Jones and Demi Lovato started playing as the candidates danced their little production number.
"Go Cassie! Go Wayde!" Our team cheers. A lot of familiar voices are heard, Maria, Vince, ma'am Marielle, and also Patricia. "Go Wizards!" We cheer along.
"♪You see me, I do what I gotta do, oh yeah.♪"
The Aquatics' candidates, including ate Ashley, stepped down the stage together as they walked down the red carpet wearing their black & blue jerseys. Ate Ashley's long wavy hair bounces as she walked confidently.
Oh to be like her.
They posed in front of the judges before walking back, the Troopers are ready to take over next.
"♪Wind to the left, sway to the right, drop it down low and take it back high. ♪"
"Slay!" Laine comments, most likely referring to ate Christine's natural curly but neat-looking hair. Just like the Aquatics, they walked down the carpet confidently with their white & green jerseys posing before going back.
My stomach suddenly gave a funny feeling. It was Wayde and ate Cassie next.
"♪Say that you're bossy 'cause you are the boss. ♪"
They walked down the red carpet together, ate Cassie sways her hips and swung her arms as she walked, making her high ponytail swing around too.
I couldn't really see Wayde that well, ate Cassie was taller than him. But I'm sure he's walking with his nonchalant face, as he always does. His hair would never disappoint either. "Go Wizards!" We scream our lungs out, ate Cassie waves at the crowd as they walked back on stage to continue the dance until the song ends.
"Oh." Laine leans to my ear. "Some of the elementary girls are here. Over there at the other side." She says. "I think Wayde waved at the audience too, they were jumping around." She adds and I reply with a slow nod.
