December 4, 5 a.m, the sky was still dark and the lights of the campus were on to light up the hallways. I was wearing a dark green long sleeve because it was colder than usual this early. We're all supposed to be here before 6, and no, Vince isn't pranking us again. The opening ceremony, along with the zumba session was at 6 a.m.

I enter our classroom, the lights were already opened because Maria and Vince were already there. "Hi." I say as I flop my bag down onto a chair.

"Uyyy, may chismis ako. [I have gossip.]" Vince says. "Ano nanaman yan? [What's that again?]" Maria questions. "Ivy, do you know Eric?" He asks me. "Yeah, grade 9 right?" "Yes!"

"What about him?" I ask. "Don't you notice? Patricia keeps on hanging around with him recently. Attention seeker." He complains and I chuckle. "Hayaan mo na yun. [Let her be.]" I say.

At least she's leaving Wayde alone now.

Besides Vince's annoying side, he's actually a pretty cool friend to have. Witty and outgoing.

Opposite of Mr. Valentin.

"Guys, punta na daw sa STEM room. [They said let's go to the STEM room.]" Maria announces, we nod and grab our things.

We cross the road, the sky was still dark, the streets being lit up by headlights as more students start arriving.

When we enter the STEM room, there were jerseys laid out on the table by ma'am Marielle. "Good morning ma'am!"

"Get your jerseys na, and change too." Ma'am Marielle spreads out the black and gray jerseys. The jersey had a gray eagle's head, Winged Wizards written under it.

We are all in line, each team has their own line of girls and boys in the quadrangle. I'm one of the girls at the back, given the fact I'm one of the taller girls in the campus.

After the flag ceremony, they did the opening ceremony where someone runs around the students with a lit torch while "Eye of the Tiger" was playing.

Our principal and the coordinators of the program did a few words of inspiration, we did a pledge of sportsmanship, and before Zumba started, we bowed down our heads for the opening prayer.

They made us dance 3 songs, one of them of course was Girl in the Mirror.

"Alright! Everyone ready?" Sir Louie asks as the crowd, especially the Terra Troopers, gave really loud cheers.

"So our very first activity will be flag raising. Whoever gets their flag up first gets plus 100 points and will be the last to play in every contest. So example, if the Troops win, they're the last to play against the loser of the first two players. Gets?" They ask and we cheer.

"Alright, Miss and Mr. Intrams contestants please come forward." The crowd errupts in cheers and shouts as the representatives come in front.

I suddenly felt nervous, if it's Wayde pulling the rope for the flag then I better get to praying.

The song Sparks Fly (Taylor's Version) by Taylor Swift started playing in the background as the contestants come in front.
