Chapter 13

3rd person's pov

Y/n was walking down the hall heading to the cafeteria hoping to meet her friends along the way but as she was on the way, she heard whispers, talks, murmurs of a certain girl that she knows.

"Did you hear that someone from our batch was sleeping with a professor?"

"Yeah! I heard. I forgot who though."

"I heard it was Yeji."

"Really? No wonder she always gets high marks on our quizzes."

"How'd you know?"

"I heard somewhere. Although, it's obvious."

I was interested in what they were talking about so I went up to one of the girls and asked.

"Hey, what are you guys talking about?"

"You don't know?" The girl asked woth wide eyes. "One of the top students, Hwang Yeji, was sleeping with one of our professors. No wonder she has really high scores. That professor must have pulled some strings for her to get to the top. They didn't say which professor though I think-"

I did not hear what the girl was saying as I immediately ran to our dorm to check if Yeji was there.

I reached our dorm and it was locked. I struggled to get my keys but once I got them I rushed to Yeji's room and knocked multiple times.

Hearing sobs inside, I knew Yeji was in there.

"Yeji?"

"It's me."

"Would you mind letting me in?"

I received nothing but sobs.

"Do you want me to go?"

As I said that, the door opened. Her eyes were bloodshot red. I pulled her in my arms and let her cry there.

"Y...Y-n...." was the last thing she said before she passed out.

Yeji's pov

Opening my eyes, the brightness of the room came flashing in.

"Yeji?"

I looked to my side and saw Y/n. She was holding my hand tightly and had no plans on letting go.

"Are you okay now?"

I couldn't say anything, I was embarrassed. Of course the rumours were not true. It sucks living in this society. One fake news and your life would be ruined.

"Do you believe them?"

I ask her, scared of her reaction I couldn't look at her. Tears was starting to go down my eyes. I had to close them before I lose myself again.

"Of course not. Why would I? Rumours are rumours, whoever made that I'll make sure they get what they deserve."

She assured me. She didn't judge me like those people who were telling me that I'm some sort of girl that sleeps around. Those looks that I got like I was some sort of sl*t. I did not see them in Y/n's eyes instead, all I saw was comfort, trust, and love.

That was it. I cried again.

"It's not true. I worked hard for this. I could never do that. I could never." I said in between sobs and instead of telling me that it was bullshit, she held my hand tighter.

"No matter what rumour will spread about you, I would never believe them. What I will believe is you. Only you. We are going to fix this, okay? Trust me. You can cry, I'll be here always in all ways. I won't leave you."

"You have classes. You can go, you don't need to take care of me, I'm older than you." Tears were really visible in my eyes, I don't want her to look at me and see me in this state. I should be the stronger one, I'm older.

"So? I don't care. I'm here, there's no age limit in being there for someone, right?" She opened my hand and handed me a very small flower.

"I saw this on the way here, it's pretty and vulnerable like you." I smiled at what she said and laughed a little.

"Thank you."

"The girls will be here in a few, are you okay with seeing them?" I nodded at her while she wiped my tears away. Day by day this girl really brings each and everyone of us joy.

Yuna's pov

Finally, classes are over.

We are on our way to the clinic to see Yeji unnie. The professor was such a shit head for making us stay late.

Hurridly, we opened the door to the clinic and saw Y/n unnie and Yeji unnie holding hands with Yeji unnie's eyes still red from crying.

We hugged her.

"Those people that spread that stupid rumour will be dead, I swear." Ryujin unnie muttered under her breath.

Yeji unnie laughed a bit with the sentence but frowned again.

"That's enough. We bought food! Let's go back to the dorm so we can eat and discuss what happened, if that's okay with you?" Lia unnie asked Yeji unnie and she replied with a timid nod.

As we reached the dorm, Chaeryeong unnie took her time with Yeji unnie and hugged her while whispering words to her to make her feel okay.

I was about to join them but I saw Ryujin unnie sitting at the couch looking somewhere.

"What are you looking at?" I said and looked at the direction of Lia and Y/n unnie.

A small blushed form across Ryujin unnie's cheeks and she started coughing.

"Are you jealous?"

"H-huh? W-What do you mean?" I can sense her panicking by the tone of her voice.

"I'll tell everyone that you were jealous because Lia and Y/n unnie are already eating and that you are hungry!" I said loudly for everyone to hear which they laughed about, even Yeji unnie.

"Oh Ryujin? You're hungry? Come here, I'll feed you this chicken that we bought." Y/n unnie said which caused Ryujin unnie to get red even harder. I guess she really is that hungry.

"Come on guys, let's eat this stressful day away." Lia unnie called. We went to the table and said our prayers.

While eating, we discussed the rumour that happened.

"Unnie, we are very sorry that we weren't able to go there quickly, each of our professors made over time." Lia unnie said apologetically.

"It's okay guys, I'm happy that you guys don't believe that. I just don't know what to do anymore with people throwing words at me." Yeji unnie said with her head down.

Sensing the tension, Y/n unnie said to eat first before we talked about anything else. Good save from her, we talked about things that went well today to avoid making Yeji unnie feel pressure.
