The owner never had anything nice to say. It was always the other way around. The owner shook his head and made his way back way of the pub where a black Porsche was parked.

How the fudge did he have a Porsche?"Marvin thought, standing by the side of the road. Jealousy, fear and anger in his exhausted eyes. His phone buzz shook him with a jolt.

He picked it up from the ground, having fallen from his tattered pocket when he was pushed out. Fuck, it was his girlfriend,Helen. Helen Sawyer.

He stared at his phone for what seemed like eternity until he finally answered with a Shaky arm. "Where the fuck are you, Marvin? I've been worried sick".

No reply just that awkward breathing. "Marvin, are you okay, did something..." He hung up.

Marvin and Helen had been together for just a year. Around that time,Marvin was your typical "husband material" but as time went on,he began to act a bit strange, yet Helen never suspected a thing.

Maybe she loved him to much?!
Hearing her sweet angelic voice would weaken him more. "Oh God!" he wheezed as the night got darker and darker.
"Helen is not gonna be happy!"he said, his voice soft and fucked up.

He staggered as he stood in front of her house. She was gonna yell the crap out of him. He rolled his eyes and brushed it off. She'd always forgiven him,she loved him to much to dare break up with him,he thought.

He tapped his pockets searching for his keys. It took him four minute to find it, in his back pocket. With shivery hands,he jingled the keys into the keyhole slot.
"Shoot!"the cold was getting to him,he mumbled.

His whole body trembling with cold. The key fell from his wet palms to the ground. He cursed under his breath. The sound of the door opening from inside froze him.

When it finally opened, there stood Helen, his beautiful girlfriend dressed in nothing but tight shorts and pink shirt, that barely covers her midriff. He wore a wide smile on his face as he approached to give her a hug.  She pushed him back, shaking her head on his appalling and horrible appearance.
"What've you been up to?
You know how worried I was!" She said, her blue eyes about to tear up. Marvin sighed and gave her a peck on the cheeks. "I know, I'm sorry! It won't happen ag..." She sniffed his mouth and perceived the smell of alcohol breath. "Really, Marvin? Alcohol?!"

"Well, technically, it's tequila beer, whatever!" He chimed in. Helen sighed frustrated. "Don't do this next time, okay?!"

Her voice soft and tired. She yawned tiredly and was about to leave when she suddenly paused and slowly turned to face Marvin who was lying on her couch. "Where's the money, Marvin?".  Marvin's eyes darted around the apartment trying to avoid eye contact. "Marvin!" No reply. She tried snapping her fingers at him but he didn't flinch.

She sighed and proceeded to shake him like a stroller. "Hm!" He sighed before blurting out the words;"I gambled it all in and..."he sighed deeply..."I...I lost it!" Helen's motionless eye stared at him. It was as if she was staring deep into his soul and like time was slowing down. It took her five minutes to snap out of the trance.

"You did what..."she screamed loudly, flocks of birds fluttered away from the sound as she falls back to the ground. Her whole body weak and pretty.
"I'm sorry, babe..."he said getting off the couch and wrapped an arm around her."It's only for one night, Helen. It won't happen again!".
"6 months, Marvin. Six months! I've tolerated you being here for six months!" She said sniffling. Marvin tried to comfort her but she held out her arm telling him "don't even think about it". She slowly got up from the ground, Marvin tried to help her but she pushed his arm off. She slowly walked towards the couch,an arm on her belly and another arm on her wet face with a tissue. She sat down and Marvin sat next to her trying to apologize.
"you didn't even think for one second how that would make me feel!" Marvin was so weak a man that he couldn't or never talk back at her. He was a tenant in her home but paid no dime.
The moment she trusted him to help keep some money was when doom and danger came.
"This isn't the first time, but I never left. Why? Coz I thought you'll change... I thought everything would be better..." She sniffled, wiping her face with her shaking arms. "I'm so sorry, baby!". Helen sighed deeply. "It's over, leave my house, Marvin!". Clearly,an apartment, not an house but hey,a house is a house.
Marvin wasn't expecting her reaction. "Baby, calm down, we can work this out!" He said in a soft and shaky voice. She fell to the ground again, letting the tears roll down her cheeks. How could she have been so stupid to trust Marvin,of all people. Maybe she thought she could change him or maybe she loved him more than she was supposed to. "I said get the fuck out!"she yelled at him,in a weak tune.
"If that's what you want!" Marvin said in a low sad tone. He walked to the door, his hands on the knob. He turned to face her one last time but she had her head buried on a pillow in her thighs sobbing.
"I'm sorry,baby!"
He said before leaving. Helen cried even more after he'd left. Both of them were meant to be together and inseparable.
She was at fault?. She knew what kind of man she was dating for about a year. Why would she give it to him?.
It was as if they were pawns under some force but neither had a clue.
