Vittoria was the first one to wake up from the twins. As usual, her father is passed down after drinking god knows how many bottles of alcohol. She and Lexie really need to find a place to stay, otherwise this image will be a routine for them, which is unwanted by all means.
Ria is cautious about meeting their older half-sister. She knew that Meredith would hate them or wouldn't be welcome at them. Lexie is more positive about the encounter, which makes Ria a little afraid of how hurt Lexie will be. Please don't get her wrong, she had imagined their conversation a million times from a bad outcome to a good outcome. But, she knew very well their father had started a new happy family while he had left a daughter behind because he was a coward. He was her father and she loved him, but she couldn't excuse his bad choices no matter what.
"Good morning." Ria smiled over her shoulder as she was facing the counter to make breakfast for both of them and left a pill and water for when their dad woke up. He will need it.
"How are you this fine morning? Are you excited?" Her brown eyes connected with her twin's excited ones. She could only hope that it would go well. The fantasy that Lexie holds in her mind is all rainbows and wonderland, which is probably far from reality.
Lexie took a deep breath and smiled. Her eyes told her everything. "I feel great. I am so excited. We will finally meet our half-sister and get to work with her. It's like a dream coming true." Ria nods agreeing with her. It is amazing, but... "Go get ready! We will be late and this will make a bad impression on our bosses."
Vittoria ran upstairs quickly to get ready knowing very well it was important to arrive on time. Who knows who will be their resident?

{Meredith} : In the practise of medicine, change is inevitable. New surgical techniques are created, procedures are updated, levels of expertise increase. Innovation is everything. Nothing remains the same for long. We either adapt to change or we get left behind.
Ria and Lexie followed their collegues where their resident is standing. She had long curly black hair in to braid, she seemed to be concetraiting on something, but quickly her attention was on them when she felt their presence.
Vittoria couldn't get more anxious than she already was. It was her first day on work, she will meet her half sister, and now she will have a mean resident. "I have five rules. Memorize them. Rule number one. Don't bother sucking up. I hate you." Ria could tell it was the truth, her and Lexie share a glance. "That's not gonna change. Trauma protocols, phone lists, pagers. The nurses will page you. You answer every page at a run. That's rule number two. Your first shift starts now and lasts 36 hours. You're grunts, you're nobodies, the bottom of the surgical food chain. You run labs, write orders and work every second night until you drop. On-call rooms. Sleep when you can, but not with anybody. Not with attendings. Especially not attendings. Sleeping with attendings, not good idea. If I am sleeping, do not wake me except if a patient is dying. The dying patient better not be dead when I get there cause not only you have killed someone, you will have woken me for no good reason. Are we clear?" The twins shot their hands up and because they didn't understand who is to speak first, they spoke together.
