My body ached as I woke up, discovering half of my body was not on the chair. I sighed deeply and got up, attempting to stretch my body the best I could.
"Why hello there." Gustav greeted, coming down the stairs. "You was knocked out cold we was worried you went into a coma."
"Yeah yeah." I mumbled, hearing my back pop. "Oh shit." The pops became more frequent as I got up and stretched, releasing a sigh of relief. "Where is everyone?"
"They all went to the grocery store but they'll be back any moment." He assures, patting my shoulder and walking off to the kitchen. I heard cabinets open and close with some cluttering, moments later coming back with ice cream. "Heathy lunch."
He nods proudly and made his way back upstairs, once he did so I heard the door open. I peered over the hallway and saw the guys enter with a bunch of grocery bags. Bill noticed my figure and immediately smiled, I smiled back noticing his eyes light up. I grab the bags from his hands and help set them on the counter and then began putting the groceries up. "Wow for once it's not only junk food."
Georg without missing a beat entangled his hands in my hair, ruffling it as hard as he could and I cried out, shoving him away. He laughed loudly, backing away and left me alone thankfully. Bill hopped onto the counter and handed me a piece of candy, which I graciously took mumbling a thank you. Bill just winks in return and I bit my lip, then finish putting up the groceries. Even though I was gone for almost a year and didn't really mess with their kitchen I was shocked I remembered where everything went and which goes in the pantry and which don't. Well actually I can't be surprised when Bill and I were on and off I was practically living here.
"I have an idea." Tom proposed. We all paused at what we was doing and paid our attention to him. "Let's go swimming!"
I groaned loudly. "You know I can't swim! I just got a new tattoo."
"Who said anything about swimming? We can do other stuff while we're there. Now let's go!" Everyone was on board and I didn't feel like being alone so I raced upstairs to grab a swimsuit. Perks of practically living here months ago, emergency wardrobe so you don't waste gas and go home. I found one I realized I haven't worn and slid it on.
I hurriedly put on an oversize shirt and threw on my sandals, grabbing the essentials and meeting them downstairs. "Are we carpooling?"
"We're going in the band van, should be enough room for us." Gustav informs, grabbing the keys off the counter.
"Are you seriously going to drive? After what happened last time?" Last time when Gustav drove he almost fell asleep at the wheel and ran over a puppy in front of his mom. I cried for the rest of the day and never forgave him. Gustav didn't know what to say and Tom snatched the keys out of his hands, running outside. We piled in and I sat by Georg and Bill in the back.
"Do you still not forgive him for that?" Bill whispers to me and I shook my head without hesitation.
The ride there took roughly 20 minutes and thankfully fast. Everyone raced out and I smiled at the breeze. God it felt amazing today, it was a little over 80 with small winds, it was heaven. I put my hair into a braid as Bill grab my chair and bag, grinning goofily at me. I smirked at him and followed them down a pathway.
Gustav and Georg raced with Tom into the water, Tom body making a giant splash as it collided with water. I mentally flinch at how the smack sounded; it's going to leave a mark for sure.
I didn't plan on going in the water but didn't hesitate to put on some sunscreen. Bill tossed me the bottle and I squirt some on my hands. I heard shouting in the distance and saw Gustav jump from Georg's shoulder. "He's going to make his nose bleed again." Bill mumbled. "It's not the first time his nose got split open from face planting in the water."
"He'll live"
Bill turned to me with a smirk plastered on his face before leaning back into his seat. "You're only saying that because you dived from a cliff at night while drunk."
"I can't believe I forgot about that!" I gasped. "When I got out the water you were like screaming for me worried sick."
"It's like I babysit you."
I bit my lip and sat back on the chair, soaking up the sun. In the corner of my eyes Bill was sneaking glances at me, unaware I was watching him behind my sunglasses. I've been thinking about what my therapist said, becoming more open. Not like spill my beans to him but just be mentally accepting and stop pushing things away. If I do get uncomfortable just put up a boundary, which I am but I think I'm being too harsh on him. He's always been such a great friend to me, and sometimes I can feel the tension affecting the whole friend group. I could tell Gustav believes I'll pull some kind of stunt again. I've been trying my best not too, when I get really anxious, I got to working out. When I can't sleep and the sun is rising, I go on a run around the neighborhood. I don't dare to journal because no way in hell is someone going to come across it and invade my space. I do like sitting still though, mentally, nothing happens, nothing bad comes my way, I just watch.
"Can you help me put some on my back?" Bill asked me, holding up a sunscreen.
"Aw tomato man." I giggled, getting up.
Bill was not amused at my sudden nickname for him. "I don't know if you have eyes or not but like I'm trying to prevent that."
"Such a drama queen." I teased, grabbing the bottle from him. It squirted onto my hands and I began rubbing it into his back. "You know, for it being so hot outside you're freezing cold." He shushed me and I mumbled drama queen again, earning a warning look. "You know you can't take me; I took self-defense classes with my host family. I know quite a lot of stuff."
He seemed interested, turning fully to me despite not having the sunscreen rubbed in completely yet. "With your host family?"
I nodded. "Yeah, the mom was an instructor so every Thursday I went with her to her studio and joined the class. It was really fun; you should let me practice on you sometime." Bill immediately shook his head, turning his body back around. "I can teach you some moves next time if you want."
"I'll consider but I don't want you to kick my ass." Bill teased.
"That's the only way you'll learn." I got done applying the sunscreen and laid back down on my chair. There was a volleyball net nearby so I watched the people play. They had a dog happily running around and I smiled, I really want a dog. I never got one again after my childhood dog died a few years ago, I took it so hard. I reached for my bag and got out a book, opening up to the page I was on. Bill remained in his chair and just stared at me. "I have eyes dude."
"Obviously. What are you reading?"
"A book." I mumbled, waving my hand back and forth to cool me off.
"Mm someone is grumpy. We haven't even been here that long."
"Shut up." He laughs and invited himself to sit at the end of my chair. I fully took off my sunglasses to look at him. "Can I help you?"
"Yes, you can actually!" Oh gosh. "We're going on tour next month and you should definitely join us. It's in America and I think you'll have fun."
"How long will it be?"
"Only a few weeks and some interviews, please come I miss my friend." My body felt still and I just stared. "Pretty please, I need my shopping buddy for L.A!"
Just those simple words made me give in. "Ugh fine! I love L.A. Just let me give my mom a heads up."
"Yay!" He cheers, getting up. When I look back at my book I felt him grab my hand to force me up. "Now let's go play volleyball!"
"Jesus Bill!" I cried yet following him.
