"So tell me about yourself?" I asked Leia, setting my drink down. We were sitting outside this cute cafe in Seattle, the rain stopping a couple hours ago.
She bit her lip and looked at the sky. "I'm from Washington. I grew up there my whole life and haven't really explored anywhere else. That is if you don't count going hiking a lot and a couple trips to Disneyland and universal while I attended college in California." I grinned, watching her expression soften. "I used to go to college for fashion and I had to drop out since my grandpa tragically passed away. We were so close it hit me so bad, I kind of spiraled and eventually I decided it was time to head back home. Being closer to family and spending time with them before they passed sounded way more worth it than chasing an empty dream in thousands of debt. I landed this job because my advisor back in college emailed me about it, she thought it be a good idea to try to get back up there. It's just merch but she's hoping I can get the word out about my work. It's nice though, I get to travel the country which many people don't have the opportunity to do."
I admired her rambling, we've known each other for a few days but haven't had the time to actually have a sit down and get to know each other. Therefore I decided to shoot her a text and asked to hang on our free day. Bill and them had an interview to attend to for their new album so it was the perfect opportunity. "I love that."
"What about you?"
"I mean shit happened," I shrugged. "From when I was young nothing was the best, but I did love crocheting with my mom growing up. I can make stuff like blankets, sweaters, and cute beanies. I grew up in Germany and met Bill at this contest, our moms became good friends so we kept in touch majority of our lives. Last year I decided to study abroad in London for a year in college, it wasn't so bad."
"Oh I've always wanted to go there." She gasped. "What did you like about it?"
"The parties." I joked. She laughed with me while grabbing a napkin. "It was a good experienced, I was able to get away from home and have a break. The only thing stressing about was my schoolwork and nasty hangovers." Leia nodded, her gaze soft as she studied me. Her eyes though were filled with curiosity and had a soft smile on her. Everything about her was soft and gentle, radiating calm energy. It was very welcoming and I enjoyed that. "Did you do anything weird growing up?"
"Uh...I used to do tarot reading. I read a lot when I was younger and would write."
"Oh me too!" I gasped. "Sometimes they were poems or just what I was feeling in the moment. I used to do tarot too."
For the next hour we just talked and talked before deciding to go back to the bus. There Tom and them were back, playing some kind of card game. It was getting heated and Gustav threw a cup, plastic thankfully, at Tom. He just laughed and dodged it, Bill noticed me and waved excitedly. "Did you girls have fun?"
"Oh absolutely!" Leia exclaimed. "She's so cool." I beamed at her as she ecstatically made her way to where the drinks were, a little hum leaving her lips.
"She is just so adorable." I giggled to Georg.
"Oh she is." I raised an eyebrow at him and he chuckles, playfully nudging my arm. "Wow, the one moment I do agree with you, you're teasing me. That's kind of hypocritical."
"Oh shut up!" I glared, noticing the bus door open with Bill appearing. He also looked happy and had bags in his hands.
His eyes instantly light up when he saw me and grabbed my hands. "Just the person I needed! Follow me into the back."
"On it captain!" I saluted. My body remained closed to his as we made our way past the bunks, closing the door behind me. "What is it you need"
I watch curiously as he set his bags down, having a mischievous grin as he began to dig in them. Bill took a moment to reach into the bag, I stood patiently as the bags ruffled. My eyes widened at what was in his hands.
"Did you just get a fucking bong?" I gasped.
He nods, a playful giggle leaving his lips. "Someone...aka you, needs some stress relieved."
I accepted the bong as he hands it to me and turn to get something else. "What I need is a good fuck but thanks." Bill laughs in shock at my joke, shaking his head in amusement. "I know, I'm a comedian thanks!"
The bong was purple and sparkly, my two favorite things. I remember the first time I used one, I was 14 behind some grocery store. Bill was so pissed at me because it was Tom and one of my old friends who encouraged me. Since it was my first time, I smoked a bit too much and started freaking out. I didn't touch weed again until I was 15, just a year later. I was having a very stressful week and decided to go buy on from someone at school. I'm obviously not a pot head but it don't hurt to smoke every now and then.
"I also got you some pads, I know you mentioned you forgot to grab some last week. Also some medicine in case you guys become sick, because that is the last thing I need."
"You're such a mom." I snorted. "But I'm very appreciative, thanks." He smiles in return and showed me the rest of stuff he gotten. I was very obsessed with the leather boots he got and just stared in awe. It was real leather and I was already addicted to the smell. Bill didn't hesitate to side eye me as I inhaled the scent for the millionth time. "Oh that is so good!"
"I think you just had your good fuck from what it sounds like." My hand immediately smacked him arm and he jumped up, backing away from me. "I'm sorry, please don't hit me!"
"Then don't say things like that!" I couldn't help the smile that was sneaking to my lips, turning back around to look at the boots again. They were just so beautiful. "Where did you get these anyways? I want some."
"At this random store downtown, they were like $400 dollars."
"400?" I gawked, I'm pretty sure my eyes were round like saucers. "Jesus Bill, no wonder your mom gets annoyed at you."
He just shrugs. "Hey, if I have the money there's nothing she can do. Don't my girl want me to be happy?"
I just stared at him blankly, refusing to admit I would buy it if I had that kind of money too. "Um, anyways, how did the interview go?"
"It was fine, my anxiety was high but I got through it."
"That's really good, can't wait to watch it later. While you guys were gone I decided to go out with Leia and get to know her better."
"You guys get along well?"
I nodded instantly. "Oh yeah, I fucking love that girl. She is so sweet and just...she's so cute."
He grins at my response. "Looks like someone has a new best friend. But no one can compete with me."
"Buy me those boots and you'll be back on the top."
"I know your mom raised you better than that." He teased. "But too bad, and I'm not sharing these boots so don't even think about it."
"But we aren't even the same size."
"Has that stopped you before?" He was right, very right sadly. "See, cat got your tongue. Now I am going to go put these in a safe place, away from you." Bill pats my head before leaving and I went to put the stuff he gave me in a bag. It was so sweet of him to get me pads, I know I would've been killed if I woken up to blood all over the bed. The lack of laundry too, that would've been a huge nightmare.
