Meeting

I was sitting in the cafe for over an hour now. I was killing time by looking out of the window and looking at people and wondering what their job was and stuff. Now that more time had passed more people had come to the cafe and it was getting kinda busy. The table that was reserved was still empty. But als most every table had someone on it now, the place wasn't that big it only had like 15 tables so it wasn't hard to get this place full. A few people grabbed a chair from other tables so that they all could sit on one table.

Around 15 minutes later a group of boys came in, they were with 5 persons so I guessed that they had the reserved table. They all hugged the waiter so I think that they come here a lot. I minded my own business again until I heard someone clearing their throat next to me and I looked up. "Excuse me is this seat taken?" A man with brown hair and a kind smile asked me. "No it's not" I said with a polite smile. "Can I take the chair?" He then asked me " yes of course you can" I said back. When he grabbed the chair he looked at my book "are you Dutch?" He asked me surprised " yes I am how'd you know?" I asked surprised. "Oh I saw your book and I recognized it was Dutch" he said "one of my friends is half Dutch" he said after that and then he pointed to one of the boys in the group. " oh nice" I said. He grabbed the chair and walked back to the group of guys again. And a bit later I saw with the corner of my eye that he was talking to the guy that was half Dutch and they were looking my way.

I still had 30 more minutes before I had to get back to the hotel so I ordered one more vanilla coffee and I was scrolling on my phone. While I was scrolling I got an incoming call FROM MY MOM shit..... I was kinda stressed now fackkkk. Okay okay act normal I thought to myself. I left all my stuff inside the cafe and I walked outside and when I was outside I picked up the phone. "Hi mom" I tried to say as normal as possible. "WHY ARE YOU IN SLOVENIA?" She yelled through the phone and I quickly put it off my ear. Damn that woman could yell. "Well as I said in the note it's my dream and you guys can't stop me from chasing it" I said. I I just hung up the phone, I'll deal with it when I'm back home.

I walked back in the cafe and sat back on the table. I drank my coffee and I walked up to the counter "thank you so much for the delicious coffee and food" I said to the old lady behind it. " I'm glad you loved it dear" she said to me. After that I paid for my food and I gave them a tip. The old lady thanked me and wished me a nice stay in Ljubljana. I walked away from the counter and when I passed the table where the guys were sitting they all said bye to me. Okay kinda weird but nice.

My way to the hotel was short, it only was a 5 minute walk. And at the hotel Zala and e few other people I didn't see before greeted me. " so are you ready for your application interview?" One of the guys asked me. "Yes I am" I said and we walked to a office that was behind the reception. When I looked back at Zala she gave me a big thumbs up and mouthed you got this. I smiled at her and I walked in and closed the door behind me.

"So you were probably a bit surprised when we called you?" The man had asked me. "If I'm being honest yes it really did." I said to them and the chuckled a bit. "Yeah when one of our front desk employees left we quickly needed a new one because we can't let Zala take all the shifts. But then no one applied for the job sadly" he began with his story. "We remembered that we did a kinda tryoutsthing a while ago and you became second in that." So we decided to contact you hoping you'd still like to work here" he ended his story. " yes I am still interested, I've always wanted to work here because it's so beautiful here." I said. "Well today is your lucky day." He said. "We're gonna skip the whole application interview" he said. "You're hired" he said to me. I was kinda perplexed. "O my god this is amazing thank you so much" I said.we already made a contract so the only thing you have to do is to read and sign it." He said to me. And he gave me the papers. "Welcome to the team" he said while giving me a handshake. We discussed a bit more and he asked me if I could start next week. They had given me an apartment not far from here, they would pay my first 2 months of rent so that I had a place to live and after that I had to pay it myself. After that we quickly went by that place and it was a good apartment for one person and it had all the basic stuff in there such as a couch, a bed and a fridge.

Back at the hotel I almost had an 2 hour call with Demi about today we were so exited but we also cried a bit because this would mean I have to leave her behind in the Netherlands. But we were gonna figure it out. Demi also told me she is gonna vist me whenever she can and we would call alllllll day. But I also had to tell my parents and I'm really not looking forward to that.....
