Buti na lang at nakakain ako kahit kaunti bago pumunta rito. Mga dalawang oras din bago kami natapos dahil komplikado ang kalagayan ng pasyente.

Before leaving, I instructed the nurses and checked my patient for the last time. Kahit sanay na ako sa ganito ay hindi ko pa rin mapigilang makaramdam ng pagod.

I was tying my hair while walking out of the building. Huli ko na lang napagtanto na hindi nga pala ako nagdala ng sasakyan. Sadyang nasanay lang talaga ako na sa parking lot ako dumidiretso.

I shook my head and sighed, about to walk the other way, when I saw a familiar car. Nanliit ang mga mata ko at lakad-takbong pumunta sa sasakyan.

I memorized Iouis' plate number and I also know that the car in front of me is his! Dito rin siya nag-park kanina!

But... why is he still here?

I knocked at the door for a few times before it opened. I went inside the car and saw Iouis stretching his arms like he just woke up.

"Are you done now? How was it?" Nakangiti niyang tanong habang minamasahe ang leeg. "I fell asleep. I didn't see you come out."

I bit my lips and looked away for a moment.

So he really waited for me, huh?

My eyes went to the food containers. Maliban sa kinainan ko kanina ay puno pa rin ang mga 'yon, ibig sabihin ay hindi siya kumain habang naghihintay sa 'kin.

"Dapat kumain ka." I couldn't help but sound reprimanding. I appreciate the gesture, but he should've ate at least! Wala namang problema na hinintay niya 'ko... mas mabuti nga 'yon para sa 'kin, eh... pero sana hindi siya nagpagutom!

Iouis smiled shyly before looking down. Guilt rushed into me when I saw the shy smile turn into a sad one.

He shrugged, now looking at me, but his eyes were at the side. Sa 'kin nga siya nakahrap pero nasa gilid naman ang mga mata.

"I wanted to eat with you," he whispered in a raspy voice. Please don't get mad... kakain naman ako kapag—"

I didn't let him finish and kissed him on the side of his lips instead. Literal na natigil at naestatwa siya dahil sa ginawa ko.

Nakaawang ang bibig at nanlaki ang mga mata, like a wizard who got petrified.

Lumabas ako ng sasakyan at pumunta sa side niya. I guess I really surprised him with that kiss because when I opened the door to the driver's seat, he was still touching the side of his lips. Doon mismo sa kung saan ko siya hinalikan.

It was like he got burned that he just couldn't stop himself from feeling the aftereffect.

"Out, Euro," I said while gesturing to the back with my thumb. And like an obedient puppy, he looked up to me with a nod before going out. He looked hypnotized... that whatever it is I will tell him, he'll surely follow.

At dahil late na, mabilis kaming nakarating sa condo ko dahil wala ng traffic. I unbuckled my seatbelt and took the paper bags with our food. I saw him attempt to take it, but I got the bags first.

"Come on, Euro!"

Tahimik niya akong sinundan at parang biglang naging maamo. He took the paper bags from me and replaced them with his hand. Mahigpit ang pagkakahawak niya sa akin na para bang tatakbuhan ko siya.

"This is my first time here," mangha niyang sambit nang makapasok sa unit ko.

Hindi kalakihan ang unit ko dahil ako lang naman ang nandito. Maaga rin akong umaalis at kadalasang late na umuuwi kaya parang bed-spacer lang ako sa sariling condo.
