8th Year
When Draco and Y/N left for Herbology class the following day, the memories of their time together at the Three Broomsticks remained in the air. Professor Sprout greeted the pupils with her usual upbeat attitude.
"Good morning, everyone! I hope you had a restful weekend. Today, we'll be checking your assignments on the Venomous Tentacula plants. Let's see how well you handled them."
Professor Sprout looked at each pair's work as she moved across the greenhouse. There was a brief pause as she got to Draco and Y/N; they exchanged a knowing glance that suggested an unsaid relationship.
"All right, so let's see how Draco and Y/N's teamwork paid off," Professor Sprout said as she studied the plants in front of her.
Usually calm, Draco cast a sidelong glance at Y/N, who couldn't help but experience apprehensive excitement. Professor Sprout examined everything carefully and gave a nod of approval. "Excellent work, you two. The Venomous Tentacula plants look healthier than ever."
They felt a wave of relief, and their friendship from the weekend project seemed to strengthen as a result of their joint accomplishment. Professor Sprout turned to face Y/N, and Draco gave them a small smile.
"Seems like our green thumb skills are on point," he joked.
chuckling, "Who would've thought? Team Draco and Y/N, the Herbology experts."After class, Draco and Y/N found themselves walking the Hogwarts corridors after completing their Herbology task successfully. There was an air of triumph mixed with the tacit awareness that their relationship extended beyond the classroom.
Draco interrupted the cozy stillness as they strolled. "Well, I guess we make quite the team in more than just Herbology."
Y/N smiled, taking pleasure in the humor. "Who would've thought, right? Slytherin and Hufflepuff, conquering Hogwarts together."
Draco playfully rolled his eyes. "Let's not get carried away. I'm not suddenly adopting a Hufflepuff banner or anything."
They shared a laugh, the lightness of their conversation masking the underlying tension that seemed to dance around them. The Three Broomsticks and the Herbology assignment had woven a thread of connection between Draco and Y/N, and now, every word and glance seemed to carry a weight of possibilities.
As they approached the entrance to the Great Hall, Draco paused. "You know, I was thinking... maybe we could do something again this weekend. Not a date, just... hanging out."
Y/N raised an eyebrow with a playful smirk. "Draco Malfoy, are you suggesting another casual hangout?"
Draco, his cheeks slightly tinted, shrugged. "Well, if you're up for it. No pressure."
