Biana Vacker

Sophie Foster

hey bi, can I talk to you once you get back from classes?

ofc! what for?

ill explain later...

I turned off my phone after the ominous conversation with Sophie. What did she need to talk to me about? Hopefully not about the night of the restaurant. I frowned upon thinking on it. It was meant to bring Sophie and Keefe closer together, not drag them apart. But as I consolidated my feelings, I felt like a tiny part of me didn't want Sophie and Keefe to get any closer.

It's not like I liked Keefe at all....anymore. I mean I used to like him when we were in high school but he rejected me, so I felt pretty, scorned. A part of me didn't want Sophie to date Keefe because he'd hurt her but another part of me didn't want them to date because it would hurt to watch.

Still...Biana had felt initial regret in seeing Marella walk in. And seeing Sophie's behaviour afterwards had soured her day. But at least she had a party to go to tonight. And Sophie hadn't seemed stand offish when she told Biana. So that must be a pretty okay sign?

I huffed as my conscience took over.

Go to Keefe's room and find Marella. Tell her that you're sorry for using her. Follow up. Find Sophie and apologize.

I groaned but complied. My lecture had just finished and I stood up, collected my things and left the lecture hall and slowly, painfully and reluctantly walked to Keefe's room. I knocked after a few seconds of thought.

Marella opened the door, her expression dropped and she rolled her eyes.

"Here for round 2 of Verbal WWE?"

"What?" Confusion fell over my face.

Marella studied my expression. "Never mind. She didn't tell you."

"Well...I came here to tell you. I'm sorry."

Marella's eyebrows raised "Sorry? From Biana Vacker? Have I died or is this a dream?"

I rolled my eyes. "I used you. I'm sorry. I just wanted to achieve one thing and it seemed to drive that goal further away."

"No matter." She smirked. "I don't think Sophie will be coming near us for a while now."

I frowned. "Why?"

"Just a well educated guess." Marella smiled.

Biana sighed. "I will find out whats going on and when I do, I'll fix it. Stay out of my way Marella."

"Not a chance."

"I brought you into this mess. And I'll have no problem taking you out of it."

Marella just closed the door and I stalked back to my room. Completely forgetting Sophie was waiting there.

I picked up my phone and dialed the number I had forgotten all those years ago.

"Yeah...R? It's me! Biana...Vacker. We went to school together....I have a favour to ask, how would you feel about..."

"Biana..." Sophie spoke up. "You're back..." She wrung her hands nervously.

When I saw Sophie I nearly dropped my phone and casually composed myself.

"Yeah....I'll call you back soon R." I hung up and pursed my lips. "So...you wanted to talk?"

Sophie scratched the back of her neck "Um..so this might sound totally stupid but um...do you....uh....were you....trying to split me and Keefe up by inviting Marella over to dinner? Cause it kinda seemed like you did."
