"Jisung, for fuck's sake, we're gonna be late for class!" Minho's demanding voice took the awestruck boy out of his little trance, turning his head around to see his best friend walking ahead of him already.
"Hey, Min— Wait for me!" he pleaded, running after the boy as fast as he could. "Have you seen that girl?" he asked as soon as he was next to Minho like before.
The older turned his gaze away and huffed, unamused. He hated when Jisung talked about girls to him, but his friend of course didn't know that. The guy was as dense as a frozen jar of peanut butter. Still, Minho would listen to every rant about Jisung's new love interest because that was what best friend's were there for. And Minho was Jisung's best friend, he wasn't giving up that title.
"No." he replied, a bit annoyed. He was going to be late to class because of some girl.
"Maaaan! You should've seen her. I think she's a foreign student, though. I'll ask around campus about her." subconsciously, Minho started walking faster.
They reached Jisung's classroom in no time and the older leaned in for a 'See you later' hug, then Minho turned around and started speed walking towards where his first lecture was, almost all the way up to the other end of that immense classroom building the college had.
He reached for his phone, looking at the time only to see he had two minutes before being officially late to his first day of class.
"Fuck." he cursed, starting to run as fast as he could considering he was carrying a pretty heavy black backpack.
With a loud bang he opened the door to his classroom. Eyes all fell on him, especially the judging ones of his professor Mr Kim, who, just like the previous year, looked ready to kill Minho right that instant.
"Sorry I'm late, it won't happen again." he bowed, maybe a bit exaggeratedly but he knew how that old man liked students to apologize.
"What a great start of the semester, mister Lee. I'll allow it today because it's the first one but next time you'll be expelled from this class immediately. Go sit down, Lee." commanded the professor with a stern voice.
Minho apologized again and was quick to sit next to Chan in the same spot both boys had from last year, panting a little from the sprint he had to run a few minutes ago. He felt his friend's hand on his shoulder.
"Where the fuck were you? Don't you know mister Kim and his temper?" Chan's voice came as a soft whisper, almost inaudible so they wouldn't get cought by their grumpy teacher.
"I was dropping Jisung off. You know how it's his first year, I don't want him getting lost or something." whispered back Minho, taking out his pencilcase and a notebook since Mr Kim in the front had announced how today they'd need to take notes on this semester's schedule for the class.
"Minho, freshmen started their classes last week and had orientation! Jisung isn't gonna get lost but you can get expelled!" scolded the older, hitting the back of his friend's head.
"It was just in case! And stop smacking me!"
"Bang and Lee! I won't repeat myself, be quiet!" the sudden raise of voice from Mr Kim had them almost pissing their pants.
They obeyed, scared of what the old man could do if they didn't, and started paying attention to what was being said in the front of the classroom. Just the usual boring welcome speech, with the different ways the professor would grade them, the contents of the subject for this semester and some new rules Mr Kim had decided to add or change for some investigation projects they would be doing.
Even if the teacher could be better, both Chan and Minho absolutely loved the subject. Biology sounded really boring when they explained in their first year how it wouldn't be general biology like the one they teached at school, but one more advanced that directly focused on what happened at a molecular level inside organisms. The contents of the subject and the many investigation projects they'd done during the year had proven them completely wrong, and it had turned out to be their favorite class out of the many they had in each of their majors.
