"I'm awake!" Erin shouted as Anna began banging on the doors.

Erin did not get any sleep due to the recurring thought that a ghost might come into her room. She went downstairs and sat down for breakfast. To her surprise, Alex and Aiden were already there before she was.

"We didn't sleep at all last night," Aiden whispered to Erin, his voice heavy with exhaustion.

Mrs. Raven looked tired, and Erin wondered if she had gotten enough sleep.  The three of them had waffles for breakfast. After breakfast, they got on their bikes and rode to school while Mrs. Raven took the car and drove to the hospital.  As they reached the school gate, they hopped off their bikes, exchanged goodbyes, and went their separate ways.

"Hi!" squealed a familiar voice from behind Erin.

"Hi, Ellie," replied Erin, yawning.

"Are you tired?" asked Ellie, concerned.

Erin nodded, "I didn't get enough sleep last night."

"Why?" asked Ellie.

Erin informed Ellie about everything that happened the night before.

"So the rumours are true?!" gasped Ellie.

"I guess," Erin shrugged.

They walked towards their classrooms, talking as they headed to the back of the room to take their seats.  As they took their seats, a boy with black hair and grey eyes confidently sat beside Erin.

"Griff!" exclaimed Ellie.

"Hey," said Griff to Ellie.

"Griff, meet Erin. Erin, meet Griff," introduced Ellie.

Griff, Ellie's childhood friend, was absent due to a fever, explained Ellie to Erin. Erin greeted Griff, but they did not talk.

"So, where do you live?" Griff asked, hoping to start a conversation.

Erin calmly answered, "The Mystic Manor."

Griff looked at her in shock, his eyes wide open as if he'd seen a ghost.

"The Mystic Manor?" whispered Griff to Erin, slightly excited.

"Yeah," answered Erin.

"But that place is haunted, right?" asked Griff, with hope in his voice.

Erin glanced at Ellie, who nodded back at her reassuringly. After that, she informed Griff about the incident that occurred the night before. After hearing what happened, Griff looked as if Christmas had come early.

"If it's alright with you, can I come to your house today after school?" asked Griff hopefully.

"Why do you want to go to a haunted house?" asked Erin, a bit suspicious.

Ellie explained that Griff is obsessed with haunted stuff. Griff told them that he tried to sneak into the Mystic Manor several times through the windows but got a deep cut in the leg three times in the process.

"Both of you can come," cheered Erin.

Ellie looked horrified, whereas Griff looked like he was floating on cloud nine.

"You know I'm crazy scared to go to the Mystic Manor, right?" asked Ellie, scared.

"But it'll be fun," said Griff, trying to persuade Ellie.

Erin and Griff tried to convince Ellie but stopped when Ms. Emma Walker entered and began lecturing on Shakespeare. Erin and Griff kept persuading Ellie at every chance they got when finally Ellie agreed.

"Two minutes, just two minutes," added Ellie sternly to her agreement while Griff and Erin celebrated. They got on their bikes and raced to Mystic Manor. Erin and Griff tied in the race, while Ellie came in last. Ellie kept watch for ghosts while Griff triumphantly entered Mystic Manor.

"Ellie, it's daytime. You won't find any ghosts now," Erin snarked.

"I know that," retorted Ellie.

Slam.

Aidan and Alex entered.

"Who are they?" they whispered to Erin.

"My new friends," answered Erin.

Ellie greeted the twins, but Griff was too busy looking around to reply when Erin introduced them. Erin gave them a 'tour' of Mystic Manor and then walked with them to the gate.

"We're kind of like a trio," commented Ellie.

"I guess we are," remarked Erin.

Then Ellie and Griff bid farewell to Erin.

"Trio," said Erin to herself, smiling.

"Trio," said Erin to herself, smiling
